It Started on Lazy Day

Part 14

"How do you know?" I looked at him and watched as he wrote notes of Sonic's condition.

"Because this is about the same as last night, see," he showed me the previous page in his notebook.

"How long have you been taking notes?" I flipped the page and found more and more notes.

"Uh... Around last week," he quickly took the notebook from me and tucked it away, "It's to keep track of his side effects-"

"Mm... hot..." Sonic turned and kicked off the blanket. He was burning up again.

"Another fever... he's getting hot flashes." He had out a large sheet of paper. And took Sonic's pills out of his bag, "I think we should take him to a hospital now."

"Why!?" The door burst open. Everyone had been listening to the door and burst in, falling onto one another.

"He's burning up," Blaze took the thermostat from me as it beeped, "Knuckles, did you bring your car?"

"Yeah. Let's go," Knuckles froze as he stood at my bed, "Ray I need you to come with me and sit with him in the back."

"I'll come too-" Amy was stopped from picking him up, "His scent is getting stronger... I shouldn't go. I have a hard time controlling myself around him already... Blaze go for me."

"I'll keep you updated on his condition. Tails, you can sit with Sonic and Ray," Blaze picked up Sonic's bag.

"Come on buddy," Knuckles gently lifted Sonic up and carried him into his  car, "We'll have a doctor cool you down."

  I took a seat with Sonic leaning on me in the back, Tails beside him. Blaze kept Knuckles focused on driving. We arrived and they took Sonic into a special area strictly for omega's... Knuckles and Blaze weren't allowed anywhere other than the waiting room. Tails and I were the only ones allowed inside.

"Is he alright? He's been reacting to his suppressants," Tails handed the doctor Sonic's pills.

"These are quite powerful. How long has he been taking these?" The doctor started typing on his computer.

"About three weeks. He's just started taking them," Tails answered.

"Were these his first prescription?" The doctor asked again.

"Yes," answered as Tails nodded.

"These were far too powerful for him. He should have started with a low dose. I'm changing his prescription to a much lower dosage. This was enough to prevent a heat, he probably skipped his last heat which is why he's getting sudden fevers," the doctor adjusted the IV in Sonics arms and scribbled notes of everything we told him, "We'll get the old pills flushed out of his system. He should be fine after the IV."

"He's never had a heat before," Tails said, "He hasn't had his first yet."

"He should have. We caught it early, there should be no permanent damage to his cycle. He should be able to birth children later on with no problem," the doctor took Sonic's suppressants with him, "I'm going to order a blood draw just to be safe."

"So he just needed weaker pills, that's good to know-" I could smell Sonic's scent a little more now. Wait... how's he going to hide his scent?! The strong pills put his health in danger, but anything too weak won't mask his scent enough. He's not going to be happy...

"I've sent his new prescription to the pharmacy. We'll keep an eye on him tonight, he should be ready to go home tomorrow morning," He laid another blanket over Sonic and looked at us, "Are you two spending the night here?"

"I will!" Tails replied.

"I might be. I'll have to ask my parents," I pulled out my phone, I had been telling my parents what had happened but they never let me spend nights anywhere else.

"Very well, I'll go with you to update your friends and you can return to his room anytime," the doctor followed us out, he explained what happened to Knuckles and Blaze.

"So he's going to be okay," Knuckle sighed, "Thank chaos. When I bring him home?"

"Knuckles, relax. You breathed in a lot of his scent. He said we could take Sonic home tomorrow. To his house," Blaze had been keeping Knuckles under control since the ambulance, "Why don't you call Amy and Silver? Let them know Sonic is okay."

"Yeah, that sounds good," Knuckles opened his phone to pass the message along.

"I'm going to stay with Sonic. I'll tell you guys everything," Tails answered.

"Let us know when he's ready to go home," Knuckle and Blaze left, being unable to stay. I had to go home as well.

How is he going to keep this secret going?
