Chapter 32: "We Won"

~ Neji ~
"Tenten are you okay?" I asked as I softly grabbed her hand

"I feel a bit of pain, I'm just shocked. What is happening" she asked

"Neji, Tenten!" Hinata screamed

"We are right here!" I shouted back while waving

She ran towards us. I see Lee, Kiba and Shikamaru coming towards us as well

"What happened?" I asked Shikamaru

"I think both Naruto and Sasuke were successful in stopping Madara and ending the Infinite Tsukuyomi" Shikamaru responded

Ino shortly afterwards came to find us

"I've communicated with both of them. They did it, they were the ones along with Sakura, Óbito and Kakashi Sensei who stopped the genjutsu" Ino said clearly in shock

"So the war is over?" Asked Hinata

"Yes, the war is over all of our enemies were destroyed" Ino reassured us

"Ino connect me with Naruto and Sasuke" Lady Tsunade demanded

"Yes my lady" she responded

"Naruto, Sasuke what happened?" Lady Tsunade asked

Moments afterwards she looked shocked, as she turned around to face us she said "The 4th great Ninja War is over. Ino connect me with every shinobi that has been part of this war. We need to let them know it's done. We won" Lady Tsunade said with a smile on her face

"We won"

Those words stuck with me, we really did it. We lost many lives, it made me realize life wouldn't be the same. It would never be how it used to be. We had to tell Hanabi that Uncle passed away in battle. I had seen my father. I lost my Sensei, and I was close on loosing Tenten too.

"Once we get back to the main land take Tenten to the hospital right away. She needs to rest, and get treated right" Shizune told me

"Yes, I'll carry her. We need to get my Uncles body too. We want to give him proper burial" I said

"We have a part of the medical division working on that. They will be collecting the bodies so they can send them back to their homeland" Shizune said

I nodded. I was still in shock. Hinata walks with me, I carry Tenten bridal style. I see Gaara, he takes me, Tenten and Hinata on his sand shield. We stay silent not saying a word. It wasn't an awkward silence, it was peaceful. We didn't feel the fear anymore, the pain all there was left was the trauma.

As we arrive back on the mainland. I take her to the hospital, in there I see her being set  on a bed. They take off her clothes carefully that are sticky and stuck on her skin from all sweat and blood. I stay there waiting for updates about her health. I know Sakura is there also healing her. I am worried that it hit any vital spots, especially in her stomach. I want to be alone, I want to forget all about this. This trauma is killing me, you don't know how many bodies I saw drop to the ground, having my uncle die in my arms and lose my Sensei.

I don't know how much time has passed, I feel someone touch my shoulder

"Neji, are you okay?" Gaara asked

"I just feel worried. I feel confused" I responded

"Is she okay?" He asked

"I don't know, I haven't gotten any updates from any of the medical ninja" I replied

"I believe she will be fine, Sakura is taking care of her. She is one of the best medical ninja we have" Gaara said as he left

Minutes later Sakura came

"Neji, she is fine. I finished taking care of her and the wounds she got. She will survive, she is right now restesing you can go see her" Sakura said

"Thank you, thank you so much" I said as I followed behind her

In there I saw her laying, she had bandages all over her. Some of the wounds she had were deep.. too deep

I hold her hand "I'm really glad you are okay, I couldn't bare myself the thought of loosing you" I let out a few tears, I couldn't hold it anymore

"We made that promise remember" She said

"Yes I do remember that" I replied with a smile on my face and tears running from my eyes

"I wasn't going to break it" she said softly

"Neither was I, it was close but we both made it through" I said

"How's Hinata and the rest?" She asked

"Hinata has been crying. She's been with Naruto, he was the one who saved us along with Sasuke. Lee has been crying, Ino is resting she has used a lot of chakra and okay loosing her father affected her. I don't know where Shika is. Kiba and Shino are with Hinata as well. Choji is probably having a snack. Sakura has been working non stop, I've been here waiting for you" I said as I caressed her check

"When do you think I'll be able to leave?" She asked

"Well I used my 100 Healing Mark to heal you. It took a lot of work but it was needed. Some of your internal organs were hurt by the kunai's. I needed to heal you as soon as possible but you should be better now. Just rest, you'll be able to leave once your chakra levels are back to normal and you don't feel the medication anymore" Sakura said as she walked in

"That's good news, thank you Sakura" I said

"That's what medical ninjas do, don't say thanks" Sakura said as she left

I was happy that Tenten was okay. I watch her fall asleep and I sit on a chair. I slowly feel my eyes get heavy as I try to stay up. I fall asleep, I hadn't been able to rest in 2 days. I had been fighting all day, all night and now that there wasn't any more worries left all I felt was like going to sleep. The trauma wouldn't leave over night neither would the pain of the loved ones we lost but sleep felt like a ticket out from reality even just for a few hours.
