Chapter 38: Chunin Exams

After training with my new team both me and Hanabi left to go back home but we were interrupted by Naruto and Hinata

"Hey do you guys want to go eat ramen? Konohamaru will be joining us as well" He asked

"Sure!" Hanabi exclaimed happily

"No thanks" I replied

"Why not?" He asked

"I have plans with Tenten. You guys can go have fun" I said

"Sure if Lord Neji doesn't want to join he doesn't have to. Either way he is boring" Hanabi said

"Hey! I'm not boring" I exclaimed

"Yes you are" Hanabi said

"No I'm not" knowing that she did have a point

"Now now, don't argue. You guys have fun at home" Hinata said

"I'm going to be cooking tonight for both Tenten and I" I said as I remembered what she had previously said. This was the perfect opportunity

"Oh okay, remember don't make me be an aunt yet please" Hinata said as she walked away clearly teasing me

"Huh? Hey! I should be telling you that" I said clearly annoyed by all the teasing

She just laughed as she closed the door

"Well it's time for me to get to work. I need to buy some things and get cooking. Now Neji please don't burn down the house. Remember you are the head of the clan what are we going to do if I stupidly burn down our house" I said to myself as I walked around trying to find a bag.

I finally found one and left to buy the ingredients I need for tonight's dinner. I also decided to pick up some flowers. I just know she will be very tired and this surprise will make things better for her. She won't have to worry about dinner. I hear back home and we do a quick prayer so this food turns out delicious and the house is safe.

I start to prep the ingredients and the cooking begins. I use different spices to make the flavors pop. I make sure to have everything ready before I start adding oil. I don't want to heat to be too high neither too low. It has to be perfect, the best for Tenten. I hear the door open it was Tenten

"Oh you're home, how was it?" I asked, I expected her to come home a bit later but it was fine

"I'm tired these genin are good. They overworked me instead of me overworking them" She replied as she took off her sandals

"Well I came home early so I decided to cook us some dinner because Hinata and Hanabi are doing something else with Naruto and Konohamaru" I said 

"Good, I'm starving but I'm going to shower first I'm all sweaty and dirty" Tenten looked relieved, she was sweaty and tired

"Okay dinner will be ready in 20 minutes my love" I said as I mixed some ingredients together

She walked off to our room, I had to hurry up and finish up setting up the dinner table. I finish on time setting everything as she comes out the room I say
Come on and sit down. Dinner is ready" I smiled

"Are you doing this because I told you Naruto cooked for Hinata and you didn't?" She asked clearly confused and she did have a point I did do it because of that

"Well no... kind of but I was motivated by your comment so I decided to challenge myself" I said "Now come on let's eat or the food will get cold"

We both sat down and she smelled the tulips, then she smiled at me. She took a bite from the food and with a smile she said "This is good"
