Jamie sent me that message 20 minutes ago and I haven’t responded to her yet. She stayed at her parents’ for a little over 3 days to spend time with her grandmother who decided to stay longer than planned to see Jaime’s brother too.
When I got home, I saw her reading a book at the table. She must have been so engrossed in what she’s reading that she had not noticed I‘m already home.

I get it why she did not notice now. I watched her closely for a few seconds, trying to not make so much noise or anything that would startle her. She has the two other things that would make Jamie not care about her surroundings. Book and chocolate.

She was surprised for a few seconds before she took a huge bite of the chocolate she had with her. Shook her head “no” as an answer to me. Funny that this is one thing she’d usually be stingy with, her favorite chocolates even though I always promise her that I’d get her more after.
