Luke woke up in his family's estate just out of bounds of Emora's capital, sore and groggy. He didn't mind being home but much preferred living at Atwood surrounded by his friends. At least Orenza lived close by and Luke could walk to her house every morning to bother her. He strutted over at the crack of dawn to see her already awake with her father and mother sat around their white marble kitchen table, the one he used to fall asleep at when his training went too long into the night.

"Good morning," He merrily greeted them, helping himself to some ready toast and jam.

"Luke," Orenza replied, struggling to make eye contact with her old friend. Luke paused in the midst of spreading his jelly.

"What is it?" He demanded, discerning the grave tension in her voice and on their faces.

Orenza didn't answer but her eyes darted to the open letter on the counter.

Luke caught sight of the broken wax seal of Attwood and suddenly lost all his appetite.
