Clint returned back to the apartment after finding his suit gone at the crime scene. He doubted it would've been burned down to ash, and he had an idea as to where it had gone.

When he entered, Kate was sat down in a chair finishing up a call with her mom. The latter was worried for her after the whole black market auction thing.

(Y/N) laid out across the couch, the dog resting at his side as the two seemingly slept. Clint walked past them and to the kitchen, placing his belongings down.

"Hey." Kate greeted him.

"Hey." He responded simply.

"Did you get it?" (Y/N) asked, cracking open an eye by an inch.

"Nope. It's gone." Clint replied.

"Gone? Like, burnt to a crisp gone?" He sat up, gently patting the dog as it opened an eye. But within a few more seconds, it went back to sleep.

"Gone as in taken." Clint answered, leaning on the counter for a few seconds as Kate said her goodbyes and 'love you's' to her mom. The girl sighed and rose to her feet with wavy posture, making her way over to sit at the counter with Clint.

"How's the wound?" He asked her, eyeing the covered cut on her face.

"Good." Kate nodded.

"Worse if I didn't stop her from fucking it up." (Y/N) chimed in. He earned an unsurprising look from Clint while Kate frowned.

"I'd offer to buy you guys a hotel since this whole thing is kind of my fault... But after the clock tower incident, my mom cancelled all my credit cards." Kate rubbed the back of her neck like she was apologetic.

"Clock tower incident?" (Y/N) raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I kind of demolished one." She replied with a nervous chuckle. He looked her up and down with an impressed expression. Her? Taking out an entire tower? Get this girl a prize.

"Don't bother. I'm just gonna be another minute, kid." Clint told her calmly. (Y/N) was in the same boat. Plus, if he needed a hotel room, he'd pay for it himself with all 5 dollars in his wallet...

"Yeah... Yeah, cool." Kate paused to tap her hands together. Then she turned, starting to walk towards one of the back room. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow."

(Y/N) and Clint were left, the two looking in different directions. While Clint thought to himself, (Y/N) glided to his feet.

"You know, I can deal with this. If you want to go back home with your family." He wandered over to the nearby window. His eyes scanned out into the darkness and looked over the many street lamps.

Clint was fast to shake his head. This was his mess to clean up. "No. I'm staying. I need to sort things out myself." He stepped out of the kitchen with an exhale. He moved to stand at (Y/N)'s side, peering outside, too.

"Wherever you go, I'll be with you." (Y/N) patted his arm. Clint just chuckled in response.

"I'm grateful." Clint said.

"Yeah, well I said the same line to Steve and he's not here, so don't take it seriously." (Y/N) coughed into his hand. It totally wasn't false advertising. Not at all.

The two returned the next morning after Clint had sent his kids back home. When they walked into the apartment, Kate was already up and awake watching the news.

"A major NYPD investigation is underway. New York socialite Armand Ducane was found dead in his home last night. Witnesses saw a mysterious figure fleeing the scene." On the screen came up a low quality image of Kate in the ronin outfit.
