A/N: Merry Christmas, everyone! Thanks for a great 2021 everyone who's been reading. I hope your 25th goes great! ❤️

"You know, I thought you were joking when you said ibuprofen." Kate watched the two Avengers skulking around the store for supplies. While Clint was looking for medication and other stuff, (Y/N) went out of his way to only pick up a Yoo-hoo.

"Wanna grab some of that rubbing alcohol over there? Lower shelf." Clint pointed behind her. The girl hummed before turning around to search for it. This wasn't at all what she was expecting.

"So what's the plan now?" Kate asked. "Are we going to your safe house? Is it in Avengers Tower?"

"Tony sold that tower ages ago." (Y/N) returned to them with a can in his hand. He was pretty thankful that it got sold, too. The base upstate was much better. At least until it got blown to hell.

(Y/N) and Clint made their way to the checkout, leaving Kate to sigh.

"That is so sad on so many levels." She whispered, patting the dog at her feet before following them. Hanging around with Avengers was so far a lot more basic than she had thought.

The dog began to poke at Clint's leg, a gathering his attention quickly. "All right. What is it? What do you want with me?" He glared down at the animal.

"What should we call the thing?" Kate asked, rubbing its head. (Y/N) crouched down, examining the dog's face and patting its sides. It was one eyed...

"Nick Furry." He said immediately with a click of his fingers. Clint audibly groaned while Kate quietly cheered in agreement.

"Oh, that's good." She complimented him.

"I know. I'm quite the thinker. If you asked me what 1 + 1 is, I'd say 2." (Y/N) shrugged.

"Quite the mathematician." Clint sighed.

"I'm something of a scientist myself." (Y/N) leant on Clint's shoulder for a second. The other man grumbled in response.

"We need a good place to stash the girl." Clint said quietly, even though Kate could fully hear him.

"Cant say I own a place around here, so our options are limited." (Y/N) responded. As the person in front of them packed up their shopping and left, the cashier greeted them.

"Hi, how are you? Merry Christmas." Clint stepped forward. (Y/N) expertly threw his drink into the man's hand so he could place it down with the other things he had. He then turned around to face the girl as Clint paid for the things.

"You got anywhere fancy other than the charred apartment?" He asked. If she inherited some smooth place like that, odds were she might have more.

"I know a place about 10 blocks away."

1st Person POV

We arrived at another apartment complex. At least that's what it looked like. I swear, was this girl rich? Who were her parents?

She walked up to the buzzer, reading off a list of names before pressing a button. Then less than a second later she meekly looked back at us before pressing every single one and sending the buzzer into a frenzy of beeps.

A man's voice broke through the speaker. "Y'ello."

"Yes, hey, uh... Hi. Yeah, we're- Uh, I got pizza." Kate began rambling. The guy on the other end was either having a hard time hearing her because of that or because the microphone was broken. "Pizza. Uh-huh. Yep. That's-"
