CHAPTER FIFTEEN
' DO YOU TRUST
ME? '

The Blade made her way through the dingy bunker, shadows shimmering over her body. She was silent, her steps like a ripple of water before she stopped at the end of a hallway. She reached back and pulled her sword from its sheath, another crossing over it, but she made no effort to retrieve it also. She twisted her grip on it before stepping forward, tilting her head slightly towards a sudden noise. She furrowed her eyebrows at the deserted scene, pieces of equipment strewn around. Eyes flickering over one corner, she beelined for it.

'Well, this isn't a sight I've seen for some time,' she commented, leaning against the wall next to the iron bars of Natasha's cell.

The corners of the redhead's lips quirked. 'My knight in shining armour is late,' she deadpanned.

Oswin shrugged. 'Naturally.' She pushed off the wall and looked down at the cell. 'This is horribly old-fashioned.' She kissed her teeth before hitting the blunt of the sword against the lock. Natasha pushed the door open and took Oswin's helmeted head between her hands. In one swift motion, she enveloped Oswin in kiss. The pink-haired woman didn't react for a moment, and the redhead pulled back, taking a handgun from Oswin's belt and moving away. Oswin didn't move before she suddenly shook her head and turned to follow Natasha.

The redhead stopped at the doorway, turning to face Oswin, who followed suit. 'What's the play?'

'Evacuate the city and kill some robots,' Oswin replied.

'Can you kill something that was arguably never alive in the first place?' The whole area suddenly shook, and the two women stumbled. Oswin grabbed Natasha to pull her away as the ceiling of the hallway collapsed. They looked to the sky.

'If the voices deem it as killing, then I accept.'

She shifted before pulling a device from her belt and sheathing her sword. She looked between a hooked end and the top of the open ceiling before swinging it and launching the wire upwards. It soared through the air and clipped at the top.

Oswin looked down at Natasha with a smirk playing on her lips. 'Princess,' she beckoned. Natasha moved over to her and wrapped her arms around Oswin's neck, and they shot upwards. Oswin grabbed an indent at the top, but the redhead hit the wall, and her grip loosening on the other.

Natasha!

Quick, grab her!

Oswin's hand shot out, wrapping around her wrist as the redhead dangled. Natasha let out a slight squeak at the sudden drop. 'You're okay.' She gritted her teeth, tightening her grip on both Natasha and the indent. 'Do you trust me?'

Natasha looked at her for a moment, swallowing thickly before nodding. 'Of course.'

'I'm going to throw you up and you're going to grab that indent, okay?'

'Okay,' she nodded.  Oswin grinned before launching the redhead up, her hand reaching out and grabbing a fist full off her catsuit and pushing her into the wall. Natasha gained a hold of the top with her feet using the grip of the wall to push herself up. Oswin's hand shifted to help her move, accidently touching her rear-end. 'Oswin!'

'Sorry!' she shot back, her voice slightly high-pitched.

Natasha hit the ground heavily, rolling in the dust and coughing heavily. Scrambling up and holding her side as she dived back to the edge as Oswin slipped slightly. She went to grab her sliding grip, but Oswin moved quicker, her other hand clamping onto the ground and forcing herself up. Her feet caught on the ground, and she tumbled forward, landing on top of Natasha. They both grunted at the sudden force.

The redhead wheezed. 'You managed to... wind me... twice.'

Oswin rolled off of her. 'Well, without me, you wouldn't have been able to breathe permanently.' An explosion erupted a few distances away, and they both jumped to their feet, standing back to back. Oswin rolled her shoulders, leaning back into Natasha for a moment. 'This is giving me deadly Déjà vous.'

'Like old times, hmm?' Natasha agreed, also leaning into Oswin. They wore matching grins as robots began to swarm around them.

The two women burst into action, Oswin pulling her sword from the sheath. She dropped to her knees, spinning on them and severing a line of bots in half. She stood in a swift movement, twirling her sword and sprinting to the side, stepping onto a block of concrete to boost herself into the air. She brought her head down and used the momentum to bring her feet upwards and somersaulted over the heads of the robots. She continued back as she reached the ground, stabbing several metal forms before turning and kicking another away. She reached back and pulled her other sword from its sheath, and twirled them. Bursting forward, she sliced and cut her way through the wall of metal, the blades sliding effortlessly through the shiny flesh of the robots. The two women met each other back in the middle.

'You wouldn't happen to have any more guns, would you?' Natasha asked, a small wheeze escaping her.

'What happened to your little, electric battens?'

'Yeah, cause I got a chance to pack them while getting kidnapped,' she shot back dryly.

'Alright, princess,' Oswin bit back, shifting to cut off a robot's head. She turned to face her. 'We'll circle back to the ship.' Oswin beckoned her with her head and began off with a sprint, dodging groups of robots and killing those who got too close. They stopped in front of the aircraft, and the helmeted woman looked expectantly at the other. 'Well go on, then. I'll meet you at the bridge.'

'Where's the bridge?'

'The big, red metal thing hanging on the side of the floating city?' Oswin replied.

'Oh, that bridge. Okay, gotcha.' Natasha disappeared into the ship. The Blade turned away and delved into the chaos once more.
