CHAPTER TEN
' REMINISCE. '

A knock sounded on the door, and the Blade made no reaction. It opened slowly, and Natasha closed the door behind her quietly. 'Hey, milya. There aren't enough rooms for us all, have to double up. Estella said you wouldn't mind.'

Oswin was silent for a moment. 'What did Maximoff show you?'

'What?'

The dark-haired woman looked at Natasha for the first time. 'What did Maximoff show you?'

The redhead sighed, moving over to where she sat and lowering onto the ground on the other side of Zeus. She began to fiddle with his fur, and he shifted, showing the two females his stomach as he panted happily. They smiled softly before continuing their motions there. Natasha glanced at Oswin, who was already staring at her with a blank expression. 'My past. Guess it was fitting. My training.' She became silent. 'Amongst other things.'

'Like what?'

'You already know.'

'Maybe, but I want to reminisce.'

'You, reminisce?'

Oswin shrugged, shifting to let her head lean against the wall behind her.

Dreykov and Pierce met in the centre of an office. The air was heavy with a mixture of tension and arrogance, the two men shaking each other's hands. Behind Pierce stood the Blade, her eyes slightly dazed with a bronze boar helmet sat over her features. Behind Dreykov stood another girl, roughly the same age as the Blade and dressed in a black catsuit with a red hour-glass shaped emblem on her belt. The men exchanged pleasantries, smiling tightly and sitting on chairs with a table between them.

'I'm honoured that you came to me, Pierce,' Dreykov began, reclining into his seat. 'I know for a fact that our girls will work very well together.'

Pierce smiled tightly. 'Yes, their skill sets are refined, quite dangerous, if given the chance.'

The two men looked back at the girls behind them, beckoning them to step forward. They complied, standing face to face with each other, eyes emotionless. Dreykov and Pierce smirked before getting up and leaving the girls on their own. Silence filtered into the room, and neither of them moved.

Enemy?

Blood?

Mission?

Ally?

Pretty.

Blood God?

The Blade tilted her head, standing naturally taller than the other. They regarded each other, then narrowing their eyes before suddenly snapping into action. The Blade went to sweep the Black Widow's legs from underneath her. At the same time, the redhead leapt up to kick her across the face. They immediately rolled away from each other's attacks.

The Blade remained crouched while the Black Widow straightened, staring down at her. They exploded forward, the helmeted girl landing a hook around the other's jaw and managing to duck under her retaliation. The Black Widow recovered quicker than the Blade expected, leaping up and wrapping her legs around her neck. She swung them to the ground.

The Blade let out a heavy breath at the impact, Widow landing on top of her. The helmeted girl pushed the redhead up with her hips, her legs slipping in between their bodies and propelling her back. She skidded across the ground, rolling out it and flipping her hair back and out of her face. The Blade sat up, crossing her legs and adjusting her helmet. They regarded each other again.
