"Jisoo! You're acting like this is your funeral!"

The boys laughed. It was a warm winter evening but Jisoo had been exceptionally quiet that evening; she didn't even laugh at any of Taehyung's joke.

Though Soojoo didn't know exactly what happened, she somehow could read the situation. Jennie wasn't here celebrating with them and Jisoo looked miserable on her birthday. There must be something going on between the two.

"Stop teasing Jisoo!" Soojoo threw the cake crumbs to Jinyoung, then she changed the topic. "Anyway, what's going on between you and Irene unnie, Tae?"

"Wait a second..." Jinyoung looked surprised, "Tae got himself a Noona?"

"I was just taking her home." Tae answered briefly.

"No, I was surprised you stayed late at Lisa's party."

"He was worrying about Irene unnie..." Soojoo poked fun at Taehyung.

Jinyoung patted him on the back, "Good job, bro, go get the noona! By the way, Jisoo, where is Jen-"

"OH LOOK WHO'S HERE!" Bona suddenly talked loudly to cut him off.

Coincidentally, there was Yeri and her friends entering The Corner. Lisa waved at them and invited them to join since there was no free table anymore.

"Thank you Lisa unnie," Yeri and her friends took a seat, she saw Jisoo and her face turned red, she smiled,"H- Hi Jisoo unnie..."

"Hi Yeri..." Jisoo replied dismissively before got her attention back to her cake.

When it was finally time to go home, Lisa offered Jisoo a ride but she turned it down, saying that she wanted to walk home by herself.

Hearing that, Yeri went to her, "Unnie... Where are you going back to?"

"My apartment is somewhere there," Jisoo pointed, "Only 15 minutes away from here."

"My apartment is that way too!" Yeri replied excitedly, "Ca- can we walk together?"

Jisoo looked unsure, she reluctantly checked the time and thought about it for a while.

"That's a great idea!" Lisa suggested, smiling from ear to ear, "It's late already, it's better to walk home together."

Jisoo shrugged, "Okay, sure..."

Yeri's already wide eyes became even wider; she bounced happily and followed Jisoo from behind.

Along the way, they didn't talk much, but it didn't matter to Yeri. Walking home with Jisoo was already making her happy.

When they arrived at their apartment block, Jisoo walked Yeri to her apartment first.

"Unnie... Since it's your birthday, I have something for you."

"Don't bother yourself, please," Jisoo didn't expect that, so she politely declined, "It's okay."

"I insist, please come with me?"

"Well, uhm.." Feeling bad to reject two things in a go, Jisoo replied, "Take your time, I'll just wait outside."

Yeri fervently nodded, hurriedly she went to her room. A few minutes later, she came down with a jar of homemade cookies. Her face twinkling from excitement. Shyly, she offered the cookie jar to Jisoo.

"I made it myself, I hope you like it, Jisoo unnie."

Jisoo hesitantly took the gift from her, she was touched, "You don't have to be bothered, really..."

"I have more, don't worry. I really hope you'll enjoy it." Yeri giggled nervously.

"I believe I will! It looks delicious, thanks a lot."

"It's okay... Uhm... maybe treat me a drink one day?" Yeri risked it.

Jisoo, who found an opportunity to pay back, quickly welcomed the idea, "Sure, I promise!"

Jisoo gave her a warm smile, one that was scarce on her face that day; and it made a heart fluttered.
