"Baby, you're barely four," I said softly.
"Please, please, mama. I'll be good. Please." He kissed my cheeks non-stop.
"Okay, okay."
Nagtitili siya at hindi matigil ang paghalik niya sa'kin sa saya. I know he's getting bored here in the mansion. That's why I'm letting him come with me in my shop.
I built my own shop for the dresses I'm making. It's not that big and not that small. It's just enough to make some money for us.
I let Lucas sit in in a day care center. Ako ang naghahatid sa kanya at ako na rin ang sumusundo. Kahit busy ay gumagawa pa rin ako ng oras para sa kanya. He's the only one that matters the most for me.
My work is just for us to live. I don't care if I make a lot of money or not. Basta sapat na sa amin ng anak kong mabuhay. Manang didn't accept any money from me. She doesn't want to get paid. She's working for me but never asked for her salary.
Ang sabi niya ay sapat na raw na naninirahan siya sa mansion. They don't have any family members anymore. Dalawa na lang sila ni Aina pero umalis pa si Aina. Nagbabalak si Aina na kunin si Manang kung nasaan siya pero alam niyang hindi sasama si Manang. Mas gusto raw dito ni Manang at iniisip niya ring wala akong makakasama rito kung sakali.
"Is he there?" tanong ko sa guro ni Lucas.
She smiled sweetly. "Oh, yes. Lucas is inside."
Nagpasalamat muna ako bago tuluyang pumasok sa loob ng classroom ng mga day care students. Hindi kalakihan ang paaralan nila dahil hindi naman gano'n karami ang estudyante at maliliit lang din ang mga bata.
Pagpasok ko ay nakitang may kalaro ang anak ko. Napangiti na lang ako ng nagtatawanan sila habang nilalaro ang puzzle blox. Ngayon lang may nakalarong katulad niya ring bata ang anak ko. I'm quite happy.
"Mama!" masayang sigaw niya at tumakbo sa'kin para yumakap. I hugged him back tightly. "Mama, look! She's Kena, she's my girlfriend!"
I acted shock. "Your girlfriend?" I looked where his girlfriend is and she just cutely smiled at me. "But you're still a baby. My baby."
I pouted that made my baby giggled. "And she's soon to be my wife."
Hindi ko na napigilang tumawa. This little boy. Ibinaba ko si Lucas at lumapit sa girlfriend 'daw' ng anak ko. Hay, kids.
"Hi, Kena," I greeted her nicely. She smiled wider and her dimples shown out. Oh my, she's so cute.
"She's beautiful, mom," bulong sa akin ng anak ko.
"I know, honey," I whispered back.
My son waved goodbye to his girlfriend. I offered her a ride but she rejected it. Sabi niya baka raw parating na rin ang lola niya. Ilang pilit nga ang ginawa ni Lucas pero tumanggi pa rin siya.
"You're upset?" I fixed my son's seatbelt. Nakabusangot siya at talagang laglag ang balikat.
He nodded.
"Why?"
"Because she doesn't want to go home with me."
I burst out laughing. Oh, my baby. He's now heartbroken? This little kid. I tease Lucas while we're going home. He doesn't want to go somewhere since he's not in the mood.
"Ma'am Denise, one of our customers wants to talk to you personally. She wants you to make a dress for her."
"Fix an appointment for it, Ella," sagot ko sa secretary. She manages my not so big company for awhile now since I'm busy with Lucas.
