And the miracle happened.

They had been stuck in traffic for half an hour now. Though there was overwhelming noise of horns and vehicles on the outside, dead silence prevailed inside their car.

Riya was getting irritated but there was nothing she could do.

Karan enjoyed the moment. He wouldn't complain even if he had to remain stuck in the traffic for all his life as long as he had her with him. The traffic somehow depicted life.

The scene was same yet so different.

A beautiful girl and a handsome boy in a car, stuck in the traffic of the busy city.

Both overwhelmed, one with irritation the other with happiness.

One couldn't control but tsk every few seconds while the other couldn't help but smile.

One's face pale red with annoyance, the other's pinkish red with excitement.

Both, kind of nervous, but for different reasons.

One living a dream, the other living a nightmare.

One wanted the moment to pass away as soon as possible, the other wanted the moment to last forever so that he could feel her presence in his life to the fullest, atleast for some moments.

One part of the scene was filled with the dull shades of doubts and the other full of vibrant colours of hope.

He occassionally glanced at her from the corner of his eyes not wanting to make it too obvious.

Whenever she turned to look at him, she found him sitting there expressionless, facing at the front.

Something was bothering Riya, Karan could tell. She had turned and glanced towards him 3-4 times now which was unusual for her. She had not usually been this restless around him after the pregnancy fiasco. He waited for her to open up, which might not happen, given it was Riya we are talking about.

"Ummm......" Karan heard something which made him turn towards Riya to confirm if she actually said something.

Riya was fidgeting with her fingers, her eyes on the traffic in the front.

"It was not as if I purposely didn't invite you for lunch yesterday. I know you hold an important place in Mumma's life now. So, not inviting you out of question." Karan stayed silent and let her continue.

Getting no response from him for sometime, Riya explained further.

"I went to my house because I wanted to spend entire day with Mumma. Aditi too came by herself sometime after I reached. Dad too stayed by and they planned an impromptu lunch as Mumma wanted to eat food cooked by me."

Riya didn't know why she felt the need of explaining it to him. She had never explained her decisions to anyone let alone Karan.

May be because yesterday she saw the awkwardness and sadness on his face when he found he had come uninvited, which he masked with a smile. She didn't know the reason but thought he might have felt left out and alone. She couldn't help but feel guilty for something she didn't intend to do.

Why am I giving him unnecessary details. Get to the point Riya. She thought.

"So it was nothing planned." Riya said and turned to look at Karan.

He was looking at her with a calm expression on his face but his eyes had an undeniable intensity which made Riya squirm on her seat, restlessly.

"I understand." Karan said with a small smile which only grew wide as he turned towards his side of the window in pretense of checking the traffic.
