When I returned home, mum had dinner all made.

"Hi Luke," she said. "How was Calum's?"

I shrugged. "Lost in FIFA. Again."

My dad walked into the room. "What's this I'm hearing about you losing?"

"In FIFA. To Calum. The FIFA master."

My dad put his hand on my shoulder. "I'll have to train you."

I moved away from his hand. "You play FIFA?"

"No, but how hard can it be?"

I rolled my eyes. "Do you need me to do anything, mum?"

"If you cou-"

"Thanks, I'll be upstairs," I said before she could finish. I needed to be away from my dad.

I laid on my bed, immediately grabbing my phone and texting Calum.

Me: Cal, I hate my dad being here.

Calum: When is he leaving?

Me: Hopefully soon.

Calum: Tomorrow after school?

Me: What

Calum: Come to Pizza Planet with me.

Me: Yes :)

Calum: It's a date.

Me: It's a date :)

Calum: :)

Me: Do you know the band Kodaline?

Calum: No

Calum: Should I?

Me: Yes. They're coming to town soon, I was wondering if you would see them with me.

Calum: Hell yeah. What genre?

Me: Greatness.

Calum: Works for me.

I sat next to Calum at lunch, giving him a cookie.

"Made them last night," I said. "Mother- father- son bonding."

Calum took it, and took a bite. He gave a thumbs up.

"Sounds like fun, and they look good," Michael said, helping himself. I handed Ashton one, and they both gave their approval.

"Calum, can you drive me home after pizza? If I ask my mom, she'll make my dad do it. And I'm trying to avoid him, you know," I asked awkwardly. He nodded, shaking his hand at me.

No problem.

"Pizza date?" Michael asked.

My stomach flipped.

"Um, no."

Michael smiled. "Come on. Invite me."

Calum looked at me, then back to Michael.

"Then it wouldn't be a date," Calum said.

Michael say there, his eyes open and his jaw dropped. Ashton laughed so hard he started to cry, and I just sat there smiling at Calum like an idiot.

"What," Calum asked, smiling.
