"Vanya! Help!" yelled Sissy from somewhere. "Harlan," said Vanya worriedly before rushing away to find the two. We followed her more slowly. As Five reached by me, I held my hand out to him. He grasped it tightly, as if afraid to let go. "Are you okay," he asked worriedly. "Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" I asked, confused about the random question. "No reason," he said, pressing his lips to my forehead.
"You missed," I joked, pointing at my lips. He chuckled lowly before pressing his lips to mine for a second. "I do not wanna do stoichiometry when we go back though," I said, placing my head on his shoulder and sighing. "I'll help you," said Five, laughing when I brightened up immediately. We all reached down to see Vanya talking to Harlan. Vanya then held up her hands and placed them on Harlan's knees. I noticed something blue moving away from Harlan and back into Vanya. I felt a strange sensation of being injected with something when this happened. Harlan's powers sent off a small wave as the child fell, making all of us flinch back as Five covered my face with his arm protectively. As Vanya and Sissy gazed at Harlan, Sissy rushed forward to embrace her son, exclaiming, "Oh, baby! Oh, baby. Oh!" She laughed softly and kissed his head. Vanya glanced at the rest of us standing there. I gave her a small smile. "As awesome and wholesome as this family moment is, I really wanna go back to the age of Spotify and Instagram," I interrupted, making everyone laugh softly.
"Let's go," said Five, his hand still holding mine. Diego came along with us to the field where all the people were lying dead. I noticed a man holding a suitcase and a woman walking between the bodies towards us as we strode towards them too. "Herb, Dot," said Five, acknowledging the two when we were in earshot. "Hey," chuckled "Herb", Dot also greeting us chirpily. "Sup, Herbie," said Diego, both of them doing some fancy handshake. "Good to see you guys," smiled Five awkwardly. "Hey, I'm Y/N L/N," I said, smiling warmly and shaking both their hands. "Oh, we know! We had all placed bets on whether you and Five would get together. I won, obviously. I knew you guys would date," said Herb, smiling back. "Thanks for your belief?" I said, glancing at Five, who had covered his mouth to stifle his laughter. "I can't believe it. Is she...?" asked Herb, trailing off. "Really dead this time?" finished Five as Diego replied, "Oh yeah." "Now that the Handler's gone, what happens at Commission," asked Five, glancing at the two people. As Herb struggled to find words, Dot nudged him and said, "Just tell them." "I- uh- we need to elect a new board of directors. But, until then, I, um... I've been voted acting chairperson," said Herb proudly and excitedly. "No shit. Congrats Herbie, that's huge," said Diego as Dot clapped quickly. "I'm so goddam nervous," said Herb excitedly, making me smile fondly. "You'll do fine," said Five, making me widen my eyes. "A half compliment from Five?! That's better than having Taylor Swift tell you you are the best singer," I joked. "But congrats, Herb. You seem nice, so I'm sure you'll do amazing," I said, shaking his hand again. "Oh, thank you," he said, smiling politely.
"Herb, we need a favor," asked Five, taking a hold of my hand. "Oh, sure, anything," said Herb. "A briefcase. I need my phone," I said, smiling at the thought of handling technology again. Herb gave an awkward finger gun before looking around the field at the bodies and saying, "Take your pick." Five picked up one of the suitcases, thanked the two people and we went back to the house. Diego went away somewhere and Klaus was gazing tearfully at the dog tags around his neck in the living room. Five and I went to the back of the house, where we sat on the stairs. I Placed my head on his shoulder and he placed his head on mine as we talked about random things. When the sun had set and the sky turned dark, all of us gathered at the front of the house, Five holding the case. "Everyone ready?" asked Five as everyone gathered in a circle. "I can't wait to Snapchat my friends," I sighed happily. "Okay," said Five, smiling at me softly for a moment. "Wait!" said Klaus suddenly, making us all stop in our tracks. He didn't say anything and just walked away, leaving us to glance at each other in confusion. He went to the railing and picked up a hat. "50 bucks if we leave him here," whispered Diego to Five, making me bite my lip to hide my laughter. "PERRY THE KLAUS," I yelled when Klaus took his original position, making everyone look at me with confusion. I shrugged in response. "One more thing," interrupted Klaus, making us all sigh and look at him in exasperation. "Mini Vanya, out of all the people who could have been your favorite, why did you choose Five? He is a literal murderer," asked Klaus, making me roll my eyes. "One, cause I find people who can kill me hot. Second, because he looks like he gives good hugs," I said decidedly. "That's adorable," remarked Five, smiling at me. "Now can we go? I wanna show off my boyfriend to all my friends... they will need peanut butter for their jelly," I remarked. I grabbed Five's shoulder and held Allison's hand as Diego grabbed Five's other shoulder and held Luther's hand, the rest of them holding hands too to form a circle. Five clicked open the briefcase and charges escaped the case. Blue light enveloped us as we left Dallas, Texas, and reached back to, hopefully, The Umbrella Academy.
We re-appeared around a familiar table, a familiar chandelier hanging on top of us. Everyone except Five and I, who were used to this, panted and groaned at the nauseating feeling. "Wh-what day is it," stammered Luther as Five grabbed the newspaper on the table. I ran my hand through my hair anxiously (if possible) as he scanned over the newspaper. "April 2, 2019," said Five. "The day after the apocalypse... Shit, we missed April fools," I said, sighing at the news. "Wait, so we stopped the apocalypse?" asked Allison. "My God, it's over?" asked Vanya happily. "Did we... actually succeed in something? THAT'S INCREDIBLE!" said Klaus, rubbing the back of his neck. "We did it Five," I laughed happily and kissed him. "Yes we did, P/T/O/E. Now, how about that coffee?" asked Five when we broke the kiss. I nodded excitedly as everyone discussed what they were going to do. Five and I walked away hand in hand. "Is it just me, or is that a painting of Ben in a... maroon jacket," I asked, pointing at the painting above the mantelpiece. "I knew you'd show up eventually," said Mr. Hargreeves, standing up from a chair, making me jump in shock. "Dad," said Diego as we all looked at the ALIVE man. "You're alive," said Luther softly. I glanced at Five in confusion before turning back to the old man. "Why shouldn't I be," asked Reginald, looking over at each of us. "Yeah... Yeah, you're right. I'm... I'm just happy that we're home and... together again," stammered Luther, still looking shocked. "Home? This isn't your home," said Reginald, making my brows furrow in confusion. "What are you saying? This is literally The Umbrella Academy," I said. "Wrong again. This is the Sparrow Academy," said Reginald, making my eyes widen in surprise and horror. Shit, what did we do now? I knew we shouldn't have celebrated too early. We all turned around when we heard footsteps from behind us. We saw five silhouettes since the sun was right behind them. "Dad, who the hell are these assholes," asked a man with a very familiar face. Ben?
"Shit," we all said in unison, looking at emo Ben.
