Y/N - Your Name
Your P.O.V.
The knife was dangerously close to my face, but I felt frozen. As the knife whipped right past my ear, Five caught it by the handle. I breathed out a sigh of relief as Five pulled me closer to him. "Diego, you ever put Y/N in even the proximity of danger ever again, I will cut your head off and rip your fingernails off one by one," threatened Five, rubbing my back comfortingly as he slammed the knife into the table. As my heartbeat slowed back down to a normal pace, I noticed Reginald writing something. "What are you writing," asked Diego. Five continued to rub calming circles on my back. I adjusted myself so my head was on his shoulder and his arm around my shoulder, our hands clasped together under the table.
"You are zero for two, young man," said Reginald, making Allison chortle. Diego got up from his chair angrily, and Five immediately removed his hands and disappeared from beside me. He reappeared in front of Diego. He placed his hands on Diego's shoulder and whispered something, making Diego stop. "All right, uh, quick rundown. Luther: Super strength. Klaus can commune with the dead. Allison can rumor anyone to do anything," said Five, sitting back down next to me and taking my hand again before being interrupted by Diego saying, "Except she never uses it." "I heard a rumor that you punched yourself in the face," said Allison from beside me, making Diego's eyes go hazy before punching his own face. "Ahh! Dammit," yelled Diego as Five pointed his left hand at Diego as if presenting an artifact. I laughed a little, making Five look at me and smile softly. "And you," asked Reginald, looking at Vanya. "Uh, maybe we don't take Vanya for a test run," said Luther from her right. "Oh yeah, that's probably not a good idea," said Klaus from Reginald's other side. "It's fine. I can handle it," said Vanya, making me sigh. I prepared to create a shield from a sound, knowing something was gonna blast. "Handle it? Last time you handled it, you definitely blew up the moon," said Allison as Vanya lifted a fork. Everybody started telling Vanya to stop as she moved the fork near her glass. As soon as Vanya hit the glass, a high-pitched tone resonated. I used the noise to create a small shield. I saw an orb form around me with a bluish tint. I noticed that Five was also under the shield. He looked at me in confusion as to the fruits in the platter in front of us blasted, leaving fruit pieces to slide down the edge of the shield. I let go of the shield to see everyone except Five and I coated in fruits of all sorts. Everyone around us sighed and began picking fruits off of their clothes. "Damn, Mini Vanya, you couldn't have shielded us too? This was my favorite shirt," complained Klaus. "Oops," said Vanya, smiling a little.
"How do you have powers? I thought you said you weren't a part of The Umbrella Academy," inquired Reginald while cleaning his monocle. "I inherited them from Vanya," I said. "That was impressive, both of you," said Luther, looking shocked. "Thank you," I said, nodding at him politely. "How did you do that," asked Five in my ear. "Practice," I whispered back, and he smiled at me. I smiled back, placing my head on his shoulder. He placed his arm around my shoulders. "Look, we know you are involved in a plot to assassinate the president. Five and I both sighed in annoyance, me rolling my eyes. "You were recently hospitalized, isn't that correct? You still appear to be suffering from delusions of grandeur and acute paranoia," said Reginald, not answering the question. "Am I? Explain this," said Diego, unfolding a piece of paper, which I assumed was the photo of Reginald at the Grassy Knoll. "That's you. That's two days from now on the Grassy Knoll at the exact spot the president is going to get shot," said Diego. "Well... I suppose you have solved it. You single-handedly unearthed my nefarious plot. Is that what you wanted to hear? You fancy yourself a do-gooder? The last good man who will save us from our descent into corruption and conspiracy? This is a fantastic delusion. The sad reality is that you're a desperate man, tragically unaware of his won insignificance, desperately clinging to his own ineffectual reasoning. More succinctly, a man in over his head," said Reginald. I was heartbroken seeing Diego's face change from triumph to despair. His eyes were glassy from tears that he didn't shed. "You're wr... wrong," stuttered Diego, a tear slipping down his face. I waited for someone to say something, but everyone just gave Diego pitying looks.
"How dare you? How dare you speak to him like that? You moronic, sad piece of shit? I'm going to fucking castrate you. How dare you speak to anyone like that? This man right here has been through shit but continues to try and help the world. All the filth and garbage he has experienced, mostly from you, he shoved aside to help people in need. You might not think of him as a do-gooder, but to me, he is a hero. He is doing more for this world in a second than you will in your lifetime, you fucking piece of shit," I said angrily. "Look, forget about the president. We have a catastrophic war coming in five days. We need to figure out how to stop it," said Five, grabbing my hands and squeezing it, trying to keep me from saying anything else. "War? Men will always be at war with each other," said Reginald. "No, this isn't just some war. I'm talking about a doomsday. The end of the world," said Five intently. "Well...you're the special ones, aren't you? Why don't you band together and do something about it," said Reginald angrily. I glared at him but didn't say anything for Five's sake. Everyone else looked disappointed at the answer they had gotten from their father. Suddenly, Klaus threw his hands up and started shaking violently in his chair. I was confused about whether he was trying to dance or whether he was having a seizure. Five and I glanced at each other in confusion before turning back to face Klaus. "Is he having a seizure," asked Allison. "Overdosing, probably," muttered Diego. "Should we do something," asked Luther. "Klaus! Now is not the time! What are you doing," asked Five, whisper-shouting. I smacked the back of his head with my free arm and he looked at me in confusion. "Stop being a brat, he is obviously not doing this on purpose," I whispered to him. "I'm... Ben," gurgled out Klaus before collapsing on the ground. "Did... did Ben just possess Klaus? I knew Klaus was lying about Ben not being here," I said after a moment of silence. I then whacked Five behind his head again, making him groan in annoyance and look at me. "I told you he wasn't doing it on purpose," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Well... Thank you for coming. I've seen about enough," said Reginald, getting up and straightening his suit, which still had fruits splattered on it. As he started walking away, Luther slammed his fists on the table, stood up, ripped his shirt off, and yelled, "Look at what you did to me! Look at it!" Allison choked on her drink, Vanya leaned back in shock at what she just saw, and Five muttered loud enough only for me to hear, "Oh shit, why?" "That's the tea, sis," I muttered before taking a sip of the drink in front of me. "You in the culottes and his girlfriend. A word, in private," asked Reginald, pointing and me and Five. "Even dad thinks you're dating," said Allison while laughing as soon as Reginald left the room. "Shut up, Allie," I said, trying to hide my blush. "Let's go," said Five, grabbing my hand.
As we left, I heard Allison say, "Check please."
