After going shopping, I decided to finish working on my dress. I had been working on this dress for months cause of the silk. It was a beautiful F/C color material. I had decided to make a flowy floor-length, puffy dress that cinched at the waist. It had full sleeves with a V-neck. The torso of the dress was embroidered with flowers. I just had to add the finishing touches. This was the dress I was planning to wear for Edmund and I's anniversary. He still hasn't seen the dress, so I hoped to surprise him. Lucy had an early dinner, while Edmund and I ate dinner together. We then sat in front of the fireplace and read for a bit before going to bed.
The next morning, after Edmund left, I worked on my dress until it was done. I picked out some jewelry to match my dress before leaving the room. I did the household chores like the laundry and the cleaning before curling up on the couch and reading. I couldn't help but get excited for the day after tomorrow. I soon fell asleep, still curled up on the couch.
I woke up the next morning to see that I was still on the couch and the fire had reduced to nothing. I noticed that the book had been placed on the table and a blanket had been draped over my shoulders. I smiled fondly, Edmund probably put it on me when he came back home. With nothing much to do with Edmund gone work, I decided to go shopping for paint. Edmund and I's room needed a fresh coat of paint. I went to Glen Oaks Hardware since the owner and I was friends. "Hello Dave," I said, and he smiled back. "Hello, Y/N! A fresh coat of paint," he asked and I nodded. "You know me better than me Dave," I chuckled as we walked to the range of paint colors. The bell rang, but I paid no mind, engrossed in deciding which color to choose for the bedroom. "Can I buy this shade of blue?" I asked, pointing to a cobalt blue color. "Good choice, Y/N," said Dave, making me chuckle. "David," said the store owner. "Uh, yeah, can I help you," asked Dave, turning towards the new customer. "Dave," asked a familiar voice, making me turn around in shock. "Klausy? Is that you," I asked. "Mini Vanya? Oh my god, I thought I'd never see you again," said Klaus when he noticed me, immediately coming up to hug me. "I thought I was the only one," I said, brushing tears from my eyes. "Wait, is this your Dave," I asked Klaus softly, and he nodded. "Dave, this is my best friend, Klaus," I said, turning to face the boy. "Uh, yeah, hi. Would you like to buy something," asked Dave. "I would like to buy paint. Yeah, I'm remodeling the second bathroom and require some paint," said Klaus, chickening out at the last moment. I shook my head but said nothing. "Yeah, sure thing. What color were you looking for?" asked Dave. "I was thinking maybe like a cobalt blue," said Klaus. "Sorry, Y/N here just to the last bucket for her home," said Dave, pointing at me. "How about Mamie pink on special, which always goes well with the latrine," said Dave, pulling out two buckets of paint. "That sounds perfect," said Klaus. He went ahead and bought the paint, and I bought my paint. We both walked out together.
"Klausy, how about you come over? I really need to talk to someone who already knows me" I asked, smiling at him. "Of course, Mini Vanya. I wanna see your house," said Klaus, smiling at me. We walked to my house, and I placed the paint in Ed and I's room. "Lu, are you home," I called out. Lucy came bounding down the stairs. "Lu, meet my friend, Klaus," I said, introducing the two. "Hi, Klaus! Anyway, sis, I need to finish my homework. I'll be down later for dinner. Also, Ed called and said he'll be home early today," said Lucy before going back up the stairs. "Who's Ed," asked Klaus, who had made himself comfortable on the couch. "Edmund is my boyfriend," I said. "Mini Vanya has a boyfriend! I am so happy for you," said Klaus, wrapping me in a hug. "Thank you. Tomorrow is actually our anniversary," I said, smiling at the thought. "That's wonderful! But what about Five," asked Klaus. "Klausy, I've been here for more than a year. I still love him and miss him dearly, of course, but thought it was hopeless," I said, tears welling up in my eyes s I thought about how hopeless I felt. "How's Ben," I asked. "He isn't here... apparently ghosts can't time travel," said Klaus. I nodded sadly. Just then, the door opened and Edmund walked in. "Hey Ed," I said, getting up from the couch, pulling him in, and kissing him. He pulled back, chuckled, and said, "Hi love. Who's this?" "This, is my best friend, Klaus," I said, signaling for Klaus to come forward. He greeted Edmund and they talked for a while. "I should go, Mini Vanya. I'll talk to you later," said Klaus. I nodded and we said our goodbyes.
Edmund and I ate dinner and went to bed after dancing around for a bit. In the morning, I went kissed Edmund's cheek, and said, "Happy anniversary, lover." "You missed, love," said Edmund before grinning and pointing at his lips. I chuckled and kissed him. We have our night out planned tonight, but the day we were going to spend together at home. At breakfast, Edmund told me all about this riot that had happened at the nearby diner, where a few colored people had gathered at an all-white diner to protest racial discrimination. He and I both agreed that this revolution was excellent and that we should try and support it in any way possible. At around 5 o'clock, I went to get ready. I put on the dress, the jewelry, and the makeup I had planned for tonight. I pulled on my shoes and breathed out. I examined myself in the mirror, picking at my hair for a bit. I then went to the top of the stairs and climbed down to see Edmund facing away from me, adjusting his tie. I cleared my throat, making him turn to me. His jaw dropped as he gazed at me in awe as I took the last steps. I walked up to him and adjusted his tie as he struggled to speak. "I-I, words can't describe how gorgeous you look, love," said Edmund finally. I smiled and placed a chaste kiss on his lips. "Let's go, shall we," I said. He held his elbow out, and I looped my arm with his. We took a cab and drove to our destination, the Mexican Consulate. Edmund and I walked in together, where we talked with the other people at the party. Edmund pulled me onto the dance floor, and we danced to the music awkwardly. That was until Edmund climbed up onto the stage where the music was playing. He picked up the mic and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please." The room became quiet as they turned to face Edmund. "I would like to raise a toast to my lovely girlfriend. I met her more than a year ago, and I have been dating her for a year now. She is the most gorgeous, intelligent, and funny person I have ever met in my life. Everyone, please welcome my angel, Y/N L/N. Come on, love! Come up here," said Edmund, holding his hand out. I went up on stage, blushing from embarrassment. "To Y/N L/N," said Edmund, and everyone else raised their glasses too. I smiled and waved at the crowd as Edmund kissed my cheek. Suddenly, I noticed two faces I never thought I would see again in my life.
Five and Diego.
