Vol 6 - Losing Hope -

A snow storm appears at Brunswick Farms, making visibility nigh difficult. A wind howling is heard.

"I don't get it. The empty towns I've passed through were all damaged or unfinished. But this place looks... fine." Ruby sighs

Team RWBY, Qrow, Oscar, and Maria arrive at the porch of a residence. Y/n is shivering as he use his semblance to warm up, Kirin joined.

"Maybe everyone left in a hurry. Before things took a turn?" Weiss guessed

Qrow tries to open the door, only to notice it was locked.

"Hmm. Stay on guard." He told them

Qrow kicks the door open, everyone proceeds forward with their weapons drawn. They cautiously look around the place.

Maria walks into the house. Afterwards, Blake and Oscar push a nearby drawer to block the door.

"I saw a chimney from the outside. Maybe we could get a fire going?" Blake suggested

"I'll look for some blankets." Weiss goes upstairs

"Yang, go with her." Qrow told her

Ruby lingers by the entrance hall for the bit while the others look around. Oscar can be heard opening a door.

Ruby walks forward to notice a group of pictures on the wall of the family that owns Brunswick Farms. Blake walks up next to her.

While Y/n, he was closing on Kirin. Wanting a hug from her.

"Kirin..." He calls for her

"Hm? What is it Y/n?" She smiled warmly

"Can I get a hug again, please?" He politely ask her

"Y/n... You don't have to ask again." Kirin worried about him

She sits on the ground, give her hands to Y/n. He accepted it and the warm hug begins.

Suddenly, a high-pitched scream is heard.

"Weiss!"

Ruby and Blake head up the stairs and run into the room Yang and Weiss were in. Qrow also arrives.

"They're in danger, I think we should go upstairs..." Kirin pats him in the back

"Oh, Kirin..." Y/n started

"I cannot afford to care anymore..." He ended

Hearing this, Kirin was more worried for him, hearing his voice without hope is, It is making her weak...

A fire is burning in the fireplace. Weiss watches it, still shaken from what she saw earlier. Blake wraps a blanket around Weiss before sitting on the couch Yang is on. The group hears the door open and close, and Qrow walks back in brushing snow off himself.

"It's the same in every house." He told them

"What?"

"Bodies. Every bed in every home. It's like the whole estate just went to sleep and never woke up." He said, everyone of them growls

"Okay, then, let's do something. If this place wasn't abanodoned it might still have supplies we could use." Ruby suggest

"Hey, yeah. Maybe even a car." Oscar guessed

Yang and Blake leave, with Ruby moving the drawer to let them exit. Maria reads a book while sitting on the sofa and Oscar is pacing back and forth. After checking on the others, Ruby stands up and walks toward Qrow. Qrow is sitting nearby the window, looking outside with his feet propped on the drawer.
