Ch 27

5 minutes later natasha bursts through the door of avery's house

Avery: "t-talia where am i what's going on t-talia?"

Nat: "hey hey"

She hugs avery tightly and close to her

Avery: "Talia, why does everything feel so different and weird? what's going on?"

Natasha doesn't say anything.

Continuing to hug avery

Nat: "i've missed you so so much"

Avery: "natalia what's going on?"

Natasha stops hugging avery

Nat: "you've been gone for a year"

Avery:  "what? what do you mean?"

Natasha sighs

Nat: "a year ago you had a nightmare so you went out for a drive. Someone from the red room kidnapped you and brainwashed you to kill me. We got you back and tony decided that we needed to wipe your memories and give you a different identity so that the people from the red room wouldn't hurt you anymore"

Avery: "what?"

Nat: "I didn't want him to do this because I would be separated from you but I had no choice. They knocked me out. I'm so sorry i couldn't stop them from taking you"

Avery: "it's not your fault talia"

Natasha kisses avery

Nat: "i've missed you so so much"

Avery: "When I called you. You called me rebecca. Was that my name as my different identity?"

Nat: "it was"

Nat: "i need to call tony"

Natasha gets up and walks to the living room. Avery walks into the bathroom. She felt dizzy. She leans against the sink then looks up in the mirror. Avery jumped as she saw her reflection

Avery: "i i look so weird"

Her hair was dyed a red orange similar to Natasha's but darker. Her eyes were now a light brown. Many other things changed about her appearance

Natasha walks back into the room

Nat: "come on i need to get you to the compound"

Avery looks at herself in the mirror then at natasha

Nat: "what's wrong?"

Avery: "I-I  look so different. I i don't even recognize myself"

Natasha walks over to avery and wraps her arms avery's waist and placing a kiss on averys forehead

Nat: "hey... it doesn't matter how you look, okay. Appearances don't matter"

Avery: "i know but i feel like i look so bad compared to how i looked before"

Nat: "hey you are still the same annoying pain in the a*s avery to me. You are still my soulmate, my girlfriend. My best friend who I grew up with in Russia all those years ago. I don't care that your appearance is changed i only matter what's on the inside"

She kisses avery again

Avery: "thanks talia"

Nat: "come on let's head to the compound"

They arrive at the compound

Wanda: "Avery!"

She hugs avery

Wanda: "ive missed you so much"

Carol walks into the room

Carol: "Avery you are back"

She hugs avery

Natasha holds avery's hand

Nat: "come one babe lets go to the lab. Tony and bruce want to talk with you"

They walk down to the lab

Tony: "Avery nice to see you"

Bruce: "its so nice to see you again avery"

Avery: "yeah..."

Tony: "First things first. Avery take off that bracelet"

Avery: "bracelet?"

She looks down at the bracelet on her wrist

Avery takes off the bracelet and hands it to tony

Tony: "Friday power off NTB"

The bracelet powers off and avery looks like her normal self

Avery: "what the-"

Tony: "that was a nano tech bracelet that can only be powered on and off with my voice"

Avery: "why did you guys do that to me?"

Tony: "it was that or the people from the red room always coming after you"

Avery: "well it would have been nice if you guys asked for my opinion first"

Bruce: "it had to be a quick decision"

Avery mumbles something in russian

Avery: "So now what, My memories are back. Are you just gonna wipe my memories again? Send me back to my fake identity life"

Nat: "they aren't because i'm not going to allow it"

Avery: "thanks Talia"

Nat: "come on lets go"

Avery: "where?"

Nat: "the garden"
