Ch 8

Natasha walks to Avery's room

Nat: "av-"

She sees something on Avery's stomach it looked like numbers

Nat: "Avery what is that?"

Avery: "what umm nothing its nothing"

She tries covering it with a shirt. Natasha shuts the door behind her

Nat: "come on av you can tell me"

Avery: "it's nothing"

Natasha takes Avery's hands into hers

Nat: "av... you can trust me"

Avery goes silent for a couple of moments

Avery: "when I graduated from the red room they did this to me... this was the number of people that had successfully graduated from the training that year... I was the 70th one"

Nat: "since when did they start that?"

Avery: "they started it the year I graduated from it... it brings back even more memories when I look at it. It reminds me of the past that took years to forget and bury deep in my mind"

She starts to cry

Nat: "hey"

She hugs Avery

Nat:" if you ever want to talk or need to talk about it I'm here"

Avery: "thanks, Talia... I'm sorry for crying"

Nat:: "hey it's okay to cry"

She mumbles

Avery: "no it's not okay to cry"

Nat: "what did you say?"

Avery: "nothing"

Avery pauses

Avery: "can we not talk about this with the team...please"

Nat: "of course. I won't mention it to them I promise"

Nat: "I know the red room is a touchy subject but I need to talk about this... I'm sorry for leaving you that night...I regret leaving you. I felt so guilty that I couldn't forgive myself and still to this day i haven't forgiven myself for leaving you there"

Avery: "I was really upset that you left me but I know that you didn't do that on purpose"

Nat: "I promise to keep you safe av... I promise you this time for sure"

Avery leans against Natasha

(In her head)

Nat: "I promise..."

The following day

Avery: "does anyone want to train with me?"

Wanda: "can I train with you?"

Avery: "sure i'll meet you in the gym in 5 minutes"

Wanda: "be there in 2"

They both laugh

They train for a couple of hours

Wanda: "Avery is something wrong?"

Avery: "what umm no nothing is wrong. why?"

Wanda: "your thoughts are very loud right now"

Avery: "sorry"

Wanda: "and i can't make out what they are"

Avery: "that's none of your business"

they both laugh

Avery: "sorry"

Wanda: "it's fine. I just want to know if you are okay you are one of my best friends and i want to make sure you are okay"

Avery: "yeah I am just some stuff on my mind that's all"

Wanda: "I'm here if you need to talk"

Avery: "thanks Wanda"

Wanda: "sooo how are things going with you and Natasha"

Avery: "Wanda I won't hesitate to punch you if you bring that up"

Wanda: "Oh come on"

Avery: "Wanda shut up"

Wanda: "come on tell me"

Avery starts chasing after Wanda and Carol walks in

Carol: "what in the world is going on in here!"

Wanda: "CAROL HELP ME!!"

She runs behind carol

Carol: "Okay both of you stop. What happened?"

Wanda: "I asked about how things were going with nat and then she got mad and threatened to punch me!"

Carol: "god you both are acting like children right now"

Wanda: "she threatened to punch me!"

Avery: "But you won't stop asking about me and Natasha! Nothing is going on between us!"

Carol: "okay I'm so done with you both!"

She walks out

Avery: "and I'm going back to my room "

As she is walking up to her room

Tony: "Avery"

Avery stops walking and turns back to tony

Avery: "yes tony?"

Tony: "I need you and Natasha to go on a mission"

Avery: oh come on. Today was my day off

Tony: "I know and I'm sorry"

Avery: "fine i guess"

Tony: "excellent. Natasha is waiting for you on the quinjet"
