Ch 21

A year passes

Nat: "av av. Babe where are you?"

She walks into their bedroom and She sees Avery sitting in the bed not saying anything. Her knees to her chest.

Natasha walks over and kneels in front of her so they are the same height

Nat: "Hey what's wrong?"

She doesn't say anything

Nat: "Av look at me"

She holds Avery's hands

Nat: "Av. Babe talk to me... what's wrong?"

Avery: "I-I had a nightmare"

Nat: "about what?"

Avery: "I-i was in the red room again...you were there as well"

Nat: "what's happening in your nightmare?"

Avery: "You were sitting in a chair tied up. I was standing 4 feet away from you with a gun in my hand pointing it at you. They were giving me commands as if they brainwashed me again. They told me to aim the gun at you...and to pull the trigger"

She starts to cry and turns away from Natasha

Avery: "I shot you. I killed you and it felt so real"

Nat: "hey hey hey look at me"

Natasha turns Avery to look at her

Nat: "It was just a nightmare, okay. Just breathe. I know you won't hurt me and the same for me. I won't ever hurt you okay"

She kisses Avery

Nat: "tell me if something like this ever happened again okay"

Avery nods

Natasha kisses Avery once more

Nat: "get changed"

Avery: "why?"

Nat: "I want to take you somewhere"

Avery: "o-okay"

10 minutes later

Nat: "ready?"

Avery: "mhm"

Natasha and Avery walked to Natasha's car. Natasha puts a duffel bag in the trunk

Avery: "what is that for Talia?"

Nat: "you will see"

They drive somewhere

Nat: "we are here"

She gets out

Avery: "wait what?"

Natasha grabs the duffle bag out of her trunk

Nat: "come on"

Avery gets out of the car

Avery: "what is this place?"

Nat: "something Tony bought a couple of years ago"

They walk in and

Avery looks around

Avery: "a dance studio?"

Nat: "yeah come on"

She takes Avery's arm and pulls her into a room

Avery: "I don't get it why are we here?"

Nat: "because"

She pulls something out of the duffle bag and hands it to Avery

Nat: "I thought we could dance to clear your mind"

The item she handed Avery were ballet shoes

Avery: "I haven't danced in years"

Nat: "Well come on let's just see if you remember anything"

They change into their ballet shoes

Avery: 'dang it"

Nat: "need help?"

Avery nods.

Natasha helps Avery up

Avery: "I forgot how hard it is to get up when you first put these on

Natasha laughs

Nat: "come on"

They walk over to the middle of the room

Nat: "come on let's do our favorite dance from when we were younger"

Avery: "that was like 14 15 years ago since I last did that dance I don't remember it"

Nat: "oh come on you don't know unless you try to do it"

A couple of minutes later

Nat: "see I knew you would remember once you started dancing"

They spend a couple of hours at the dance studio.

They take a break

Avery: "I forgot how much fun that is"

Nat: "did this help with the stress?"

Avery: "definitely thanks Talia"

Nat: "you're welcome av"

Avery: "wait so Tony owns this studio right?"

Nat: "mhm"

Avery: "and you are the only person on the team who can dance. If you're not using it doesn't it just sit here closed"

Nat: "no people take classes here so the studio is always in use. Tony doesn't let anyone use this room and said it's my private one since he knows how when I'm stressed I usually dance"

Avery: "that's nice. Wait why isn't anyone else here?"

Nat: "because I requested that we were the only ones at the studio today so it doesn't trigger your social anxiety. A lot of people come every day"

Avery: "thanks baby"

Nat: "no problem babe"

She kisses Avery

Nat: "do you feel better now that we did something fun?"

Avery: "yeah i do"

Nat: "See, I knew this would cheer you up. Come on let's go get some food "
