~Sage's Pov~

Today's the day of the dance.
I'm kind of nervous.
As soon as I'm dressed, Clara drags me downstairs.
Morgan is waiting in the car.
"Where are you taking me?" I ask.
"It's a secret," Clara says and giggles.
We arrive at a nail salon.
I get light blue with snowflakes painted on my nails.
Morgan gets flowers on light green and Clara gets a wild design, different on each nail.
Then, they drag me to a hair salon.
Clara has her hair straightened and Morgan has them put her hair in a nice up-do.
I have them leave it curly and loose.
"Okay, what is up with you and Frost?" Clara is being nosey today.
"I don't know. He asked me out, but I said no. Now I don't know what to do," I say feeling depressed, "Anyway, what is going on with you and Hudson?"
"Nothing. We're just friends," she blushes, "How's Garrick?"
"He's fine," Morgan reports, "But I'm interested in the Sage and Isaac show."
They look expectantly at me.
"Oh, no. That's enough of my love life for one night," I sigh.
We go back home and change into our dresses.
I do Clara's makeup, Morgan does mine, and Clara does Morgan's.
They look amazing.
Garrick and Hudson are really lucky.
Well, Brandon would be if he hadn't been so stupid.
They go downstairs, while I put on my necklace.
It's the ring Isaac got me on a delicate silver chain.
Perfect.
When I go downstairs they are whispering about something.
I hear my name and Isaac's.
What are they planning?
I guess they can't do that much damage right?
Our dates arrive. Garrick in a gray tux, Hudson in a black one, and William in a black one as well.
I don't know why, but William looks really familiar.
I shake it off and we drive to the dance.
Clara and Morgan go do something, while William and I get some punch.
I don't drink anything, because I have a feeling someone spiked it.
We dance a little bit, but I'm kind of bored.
Isaac arrives with Saira, who is wearing a very fancy pink dress.
She hangs on to him like she's afraid he's going to disappear.
He doesn't look happy though.
I lead William over to go say hi.
Before I can get there, Clara blocks my path.
"Sage! We need your help," she says and drags me to the bathroom.
"What is it?" I ask concerned.
"Umm...well Morgan wants to know if her makeup looks okay," she says quickly.
"Okay, but can't this wait?" I ask.
She shakes her head.
I try to turn around, but she pulls me back.
What is she hiding?
Morgan and Clara block the door and I give up.
I help Morgan adjust her makeup and Clara's phone beeps.
"Okay, you can leave now," she says and they push me out of the bathroom.
Okay, then...
I find William and apologize.
We try to find Isaac and Saira again.
Before we do, the principal, Mrs. Lail, starts talking.
We all turn toward her.
"Good evening seniors and juniors. Welcome to The Winter Formal! Now what you've all been waiting for. The King and Queen, and princes and princesses." She says and everyone cheers, "The first prince is Garrick Robbins. Next is Brandon Wood."
They go and get their sash.
"Princesses are Morgan Summer and Clara Spring," I cheer as they get their sash and roses.

-Morgan's Pov-

Clara and I were crowned Princesses of the formal. Well, we knew we would after all we...well it's better that I not say...
Clara and I both know what's about to happen.
We may or may not have stuffed the ballot box.
Mrs. Lail starts talking again, "Now for our King and Queen. The king is Isaac Frost." He comes up and gets his crown, "And our queen is Sage Winters!"
She looks shocked, but gets on stage.
"Now for the court's dance," She announces.

~Sage's Pov~

Isaac offers me his hand and we start dancing.
I see Morgan and Garrick and Clara and Brandon dancing as well.
They at least don't want to kill each other.
They actually look happy.
I turn and see Saira glaring at me.
Why does she hate me? What did I ever do to her? Isaac and I aren't together and won't ever be. The player and the princess aren't exactly a great match. It's nothing personal, but we aren't meant to be.
Isaac whispers, "Just ignore her."
I nod and put my head on his shoulder.
How was I picked? I know a lot of people, but Saira is way more popular.
Autumn looks at me and winks.
I smile.
Soon, the dance ends and I go back to William and Isaac goes back to Saira.
The formal is almost over.
William leads me outside and takes my hand. I really don't know what's happening.
"Sage, I know I just met you, but will you be my girlfriend?" He asks.
I'm shocked.
That kind of came out of no where.
"I'm flattered William, but I just want to be friends," I say awkwardly.
He smiles, but I can tell there's a smirk behind it.
"I get it. I have a feeling it has to do with Isaac," he says.
"I don't know. He ditched me when we were little and I'm scared he'll do it again," I say.
"It'll be fine in the end," he says.
I give him a hug and say, "Thanks for letting me talk to you."
"Anytime," he smiles.
We go back to the dance.
We are about to leave when I see Isaac kissing Saira.
What?
But...
I quickly walk out.
William takes me home and I take off my makeup and dress and put on my pajamas.
Sitting on my bed, I can see the stars shining brightly. They eventually draw me out to the terrace. The sky is a deep royal blue with twinkling stars appearing.
It almost of reminds me of the night Isaac took me on the yacht in Hollywood. That night was so different. He was sweet and sensitive, but I've only known him as an idiot. I don't know what happened, but something changed between us there.
What am I saying?
I don't need a man. I can handle myself.
What is wrong with me?
This is making me soft. I'm a spy.
I don't need anyone.
