Functional: Chapter 48

Hey I fucked up and wrote like, 2,000 words for this chapter about something that was made during/about COVID-19. Assuming COVID-19 wasn't a thing in the MHA universe, this wouldn't have been possible and Inside by Bo Burnham wouldn't exist. So, instead of deleting hours worth of creative energy, I've decided that Inside was simply a passion project where Bo Burnham locked himself inside for a year and created content. I am sorry for taking so many creative liberties, but I'm lazy, okay? And I really like this chapter.

Depresso: Hey I have to tell you something

     Hi-Toe-Shi: You're desperately in love with me?

Depresso: you wish. I won't be in the supplementary class anymore. I've been cleared to go back to heroics

Depresso: I'm sorry,, but we can still hang out other times

Hi-Toe-Shi: Like when? We have different lunch blocks.

Depresso: well what are u doing right now?

Hi-Toe-Shi: ????? It's almost 2 AM, I'm not leaving my house.

Depresso: you don't have to! We can watch a movie using the screen-sharing feature on a video call.

     Hi-Toe-Shi: Oh. Alright. What do you wanna watch?

     Depresso: uhhh I haven't gotten a chance to see that new Bo Burnham special? Insider or whatever

     Hi-Toe-Shi: Insider? I barely know her

    Depresso: I fucking hate you.

     Depresso: do u wanna watch it or not, Shinsou

     Hi-Toe-Shi: I fucking hate how you constantly switch between "u" and "you." You're a psychopath.

     Depresso: the test results haven't come back yet :/ and fuck u, you ass

     Hi-Toe-Shi: Mm. Spite isn't a good look on you.

     Depresso: Yeah well purple isn't your color

     Depresso: It's okay bud, there are people you can talk to. I'm sure it must be difficult :(

     Depresso: uhhhh

     Depresso: I genuinely enjoy your company and I think it would be a nice bonding experience.

     I situate myself quickly so I lay on my stomach, pillow tucked under my chin, with my phone resting against the wall. I fix my hair, pause, ask myself what the fuck I'm doing, then accept the call.
