Chapter 32: "Path"

Start from the beginning

Just then I heard the sound of someone entering into the kitchen as I turned around to look. It was Henry, who seemingly decided to come downstairs, whether that was for food, or to talk, or even a break remained to be seen. "I understand there are certain complications that need to resolved between the both of you?" asked Henry. "Yeah... Something like that... " I responded shifting my eyes down as I spoke. "Well I hate to intrude on a time like this, but I have the details ready for the next mission. And as we're all aware, time is of the essence and what time we have remaining must not go to waste," he said. "I understand," I responded. "I'll be waiting for the both of you in the garage, as will everyone else hopefully," said Henry as he walked away from us. "We'll talk about this after the briefing," I said to Foxy. "But... " she tried to say in response. "It's fine. We'll talk after. Ok?" I responded reassuring her. "Ok... " she responded sounding like she was trying to make herself feel better after I decided to push back the continuation of our talk. It seemed to be enough regardless as she followed me on our way towards the garage. I didn't like halting our conversation so suddenly, especially without a clear resolution. Foxy needed to hear me say there was one to temporally deal with her problem, as this was something I had little control over. There wasn't anything more I could do for her, at least as of right now. I opened the door to the garage and walked inside with Foxy following behind me, as everyone turned to look at the both of us. "Everything ok?" asked Michael making sure all was well. "Things could be better... " I responded being blunt with him since there was no point in denying the struggles I had to worry about. Besides I knew Michael cared about me and everyone else here the most, considering all the ordeals and trauma he had been succumbed to. " ...But now's not the time to dwell on our problems. You have the next mission to brief on everyone?" "Yes, I do," responded Henry as I spoke to him. "Your next objective will be at an old location that was never opened: Chica's Party World." "Because of Afton? Like everything else for Fazbear Entertainment?" guessed Bonnie. "Of course. It was supposed open a while after Baby's Pizza World and have that old Funtime Chica model and the rest of the Funtime animatronics like Funtime Freddy and Funtime Foxy be the main cast for that location, though that never happened because of the previous location being shut down. So the pizzeria was abandoned, like the rest of the other locations and now remains as a tomb for a trap that never had the chance to spring," answered Henry. "In any case, I've hidden the second to last device I created to deal with Afton at that location: The Decoder." "Decoder? Which does what?" asked Bonnie. "It like a flash drive that when plugged into any machine, or animatronic for that matter, will download everything and decode the coding from anything in a matter of seconds. It can even override an electronic device and give command to the person using the tool and full access to it," explained Duality. "Or allow control over our enemies, which can also steal any intel from them that'll prove to assist us," said Bonnie catching on. "Looks like I taught him well," said Mangle standing up straight on the table. "Hopefully not too well," added in Helpy. "Where in the pizzeria is it located?" asked Michael. "It'll be under one of the legs of the tables in one of the party rooms. One of the tiles of the floor's color will be off from the rest of the floor, which you will know is the spot where the device is planted," continued Henry. "And when we find the tile? What then?" asked Bonnie. "You'll know what to do next when it comes to that time," responded Henry avoiding from answering the question. "Why not tell us, huh? Hiding something from us that we don't know?" questioned Bon Bon. "That is all the information I can provide for obtaining the device. If that is a problem then all I can say is you'll have to make due without receiving any further answers over the matter," responded Henry. While Bon Bon's attitude was unwarranted, as usual, I couldn't help but agree over the limited information Henry was giving to everyone and without a proper reason. There was a clear reason to this, but as to what it was I couldn't be sure of.

"The location by drive should take about an hour and a half and I'll give Helpy my phone to use once again to know how to reach the location. Retrieve the device and leave as soon as possible, as the enemy could be waiting once you arrive." "We'll deal with them if it comes to that. Which it might depending on how it's happened at every retrieval operation we've done so far," said Bonnie. "I should also mention this to you, but you should be able to start walking again after a few small adjustments and parts I fixed to replace on your back. You won't be able to head into battle just yet but I calculate you'll be fully operational by tomorrow," said Henry to Mangle. "Good to hear. Though at this point I won't have to return to my position of being leader, considering how well Bonnie has adjusted into that title," responded Mangle turning to look at Bonnie. "Well boss you can always take the spot back whenever you feel like it. It ain't officially mine yet," Bonnie responded. "I should announce this as well before everyone leaves for the mission, but I will not be joining all of you on this mission as I still have my training to work on myself to master everything before we fight William and his followers. I also have to learn the rest of the Resurrection Power in order to train the rest of you," I announced. "That also means Duality will be staying here with me to teach everything else I have left to learn about the power. Just remember your training and everything I have taught currently if our enemies are waiting at the pizzeria to ensure a clean operation. Just make it out safe." "Will do," responded Michael. "Then that wraps up the briefing. All of you will leave in ten minutes so I suggest getting prepared, using the bathroom, or doing anything else needed before your departure. That is all," said Henry. "Oh I definitely need to use the bathroom! Can't be having any accidents in the car," announced Springbonnie as she and the others made their way towards the door to enter the house. "Those are words that deserve be said in your mind and that I don't need to hear," responded Helpy. I noticed Foxy was still in the room while everyone walked out of the garage, and I could see Michael turn around and notice her still with me in the garage. He turned to look at me, almost seeming like he was acknowledging her situation and me being the one to tend to it.

"I guess I have to go through with this feelings without you after all," Foxy said finally as I turned to look at her. "I guess so," I said in response. "And I guess there's not much else I can say that hasn't been said already. All I have left is my hope you can resolve this situation in the end, no matter what you go through... If you'll need me I'll be here, like usual... Take care of yourself... " She stood still for a moment, not making any moves or saying a word until she suddenly walked towards me and hugged me. "I will," she responded hugging me tightly. I could tell by her grip she didn't not want to stop hugging; she didn't want to do this alone but she felt this was the best option for herself. I allowed my to hug her back gently for a moment and preparing myself for her to detach from me for a while, letting her walk a path alone. She finally broke away the hug as I could see how hard she wanted to cry, but was fighting the urge to do so and not feel weak in front of me. I admired her toughness though I felt that wasn't best to cope with pain or sadness, sometimes letting those feelings out instead of holding it back was necessary to feel better afterwards.

She turned around and walked away from me and towards the door, leaving me for however long she needed. Now she would walk a path alone; no one to guide her or give directions, she only had herself now. Whether she would reach the end of the path she followed, with or without me, could all depend on her. Her outcome was in her and only her hands.

"What will you do?"

I turned to see Mangle staring at me while sitting up straight on the table, awaiting for my answer. She seemed to grasp the situation between me and Foxy, even if she didn't know the full context. It didn't matter since she had seen enough to realize we had to separate our bond for Foxy to change, I had to let her do this on her own.

"Wait for the day she either resolves her need to change, or wait for the day she comes back to me for help. Both are the only things I can do," I responded turning to look at Foxy enter the house as the door closed behind her. "Either way, I'll be waiting for as long as it takes, even if those days never happen. It's the path we've taken for each other and will never leave; always being there for one another... In whatever way we choose."
