The Hired Player

Suprise!

***********************Riley's POV*****************************

We finally got everything planned for the New Year's party yesterday. I also got my article yesterday, it looked amazing and turned out great. I was excited for the world to see it. It was just one of those things that I wasn't confident with and now seeing the cover made me confident.

Ryan was never gonna actually read it so I didn't care. He was too stuburn for that. To actually read about the truth.

"I just love your view." Mason said as he stood in the big bay window.

"Yeah so do I." I replied.

"I better get going. I'll see you later." Mason said as he made it to the kitchen.

"Okay." I replied.

"Thanks for letting me stay. These damn bugs better all be gone now." He said.

"Hopefully." I said with a laugh.

"Merry Christmas by the way." He said as he left.

"You too." I replied.

Mason had stayed the night being he had to get this house bug bombed last night. I pulled out the pull out on the couch and let him sleep there.

**Ring, Ring**

"Hello?" I asked.

"Ri, It's me..Where exactly do you live?" Parker asked.

"Parker, Where are you?"

"I sort of came to NYC." He said.

"You what?!"

"I was tired of mom nagging me... So I took the money I got for grandma and came here. I'm sorta at the airport." He said.

"107 67th Ave. Come in and I'm on the top floor."

"Okay..I'll see you in a few." He said as he hung up.

Parker showed up 10 minutes later.

"Holy Sh*t Riley! How did you get this?" He asked.

"I sort of work for a HUGE magazine now." I said.

"This view is to die for!" He said.

"It's amazing right!"

"You talk to Ryan yet?" He asked.

"No.. Parker why would I?" I asked.

"Well... with his article and yours being out I just thought." He said.

"Thought that we would crawl back to each other?!"

"Oh just nevermind then." He said plopping down on the couch.

"So how long are you staying exactly?"

"Well at least for a few days." He said.

*************************************Ryan's POV************************************

"Hey buddy." I whispered in Bryleigh's ear.

"Is Santa here yet?" He said as he fluttered his eyes open.

"I think he came.. You might wanna go check it out." I said.

"YAY!" He said jumping out of bed.

I followed Bryleigh out into the living room as Olivia was cooking.

"Momma! Santa came!" Bryleigh said excited.

"I know baby.. Open them." Olivia said.

As he ran to my small christmas tree he gathered his presents in a small heap first. Then dug into them. I had brought him some gifts and Olivia bought the rest of the heap that sat in front of him.

I loved seeing his face filled with excitement and joy of the gifts. I couldn't wait to see his face as he opened my big gift I got him.

"Here buddy open this one." I said handing the small envelope.

"What's this?" He asked.

"Open it up.. It's from me." I said.

As he opened the envelope he pulled out the three tickets to the New York Giants game. He immediately jumped up.

"TICKETS!!!" He screamed.

"You didn't have to do that Ryan." Olivia said.

"It's nothing.. I know how much he loves them." I said.

"It's for tomorrow!" He said excited.

"Yup...Christmas day game they are playing my favorite team the Colts." I said.

"Uh Oh! This means WAR!" He said jumping on me.

"Does it?" I asked tickling him.

"NOOOO!" He screamed jumping up and running around my couch as I chased after him.

"Your doing down mr." I said.

"Better run Bry." Olivia said.

"No fair! Your small." I said as Bryleigh squeezed between the couch and the bookshelf.

Bryleigh laughed hysterically as I tried to fit in there but got stuck.

Having them here has to be the best time I've had since I moved here. They make me feel like I'm at home and I don't have a care in the world.

"Hey guys! Can we talk?" Olivia asked.

"Sure." I said sitting on the couch next to Bryleigh.

"Soo... The other day I was offered a new job." Olivia said but before she could say anything else Bryleigh spilt the beans.

"We're moving to NEW YORK!" He said.

"Bry.. I was talking." She said.

"Wait? What? Are you serious?" I asked shocked.

"He's not lying." She said.

"That's amazing!" 

"I knew you'd like it. Merry Christmas!" She said.

"Where you going to live?"

"Well.. they are setting everything up now." She said.

"Why don't you live here?"

"I can't invade on your life Ryan." She said.

"Olivia, This has literally been the best time I've had since I moved here.. Your not invading."

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"I'm POSITIVE!"

"YAY!" Bryleigh screamed as he took off to his toys.
