Why (Achievement #25) ABAB CDCD Rhyming Poem.
Why?
Why do stars only come out at night?
There are so many.
And their light shined bright.
It is time for fairies to play.
I remember when I was a little boy.
It was always a thrill to stay up late.
It was like being given a new toy.
Especially when wandering past the garden gate.
F/N: I never had a clue what an ABAB CDCD Rhyming Poem was, after some research and reading lots of complicated stuff about Shakespeare's sonnets, I came up with this.
Just to be sure I crossed-checked with others already written in volumes 1 and 2 and was delighted to find I was on the right path. I was inspired by those who had progressed to EFEF, GHGH, and thought maybe mine is not enough and continued and added two more stanzas as writing this was a pleasure.
I had never seen this gate before.
It led to a fairy house nestled by a pond.
It was enchanting, but I was a little unsure.
There was a line I would not go beyond.
Sadly, the older I got.
The gate became smaller and smaller.
It was not long before I lost a child's sight and soon forgot.
The problem with getting older is that your imagination gets smaller as you grow taller.
