I remember when I first started sharing my feelings in written word, and a decently close relative asked me, very pointedly, "You write a lot of sad stuff. Why don't you try writing something happy? It will make me worry about your wellbeing less."
And it's been... five years? And I don't know why I didn't see it then, but I'm pretty sure that is the biggest red flag if I ever did see one.
