It Started on Lazy Day

Part 7

"But I wanna know," he whined.

"If you like it I'll make some more with dinner tonight okay?" After we ate I got dressed and we left for school.

"Bye Sonic!" Tails ran right into his school.

"Bye! Try not to overwhelm them with your invention okay!" I waved as he ran off.

  Well, at least his future is secured. I've got to get to college at least.

PoV: Tails

"He's gone?" I carefully checked the school gate, Sonic had left for his high school already, "Good."

  I pulled out my bento box and unwrapped it. I took out the riceball. It looked like it was wrapped in tree leaves. Weird, he normally uses seaweed.

"Eh? A pink rice ball?" I unwrapped it and found a pink rice ball with flower petals on it, "Is this his new recipe? Strawberry?" I sniffed it, "It smells like sakura tea!" I took a bite, "Mm!!! So good!"

  Surprise riceballs are the best!

PoV: Sonic

"You think Tails really waited until lunch to unwrap his surprise rice ball?" Amy asked as she sat at the desk next to me.

"No way. He probably ducked behind the school somewhere to open it. I bet he's lost over the color he saw," I laughed, "He's never had a pink rice ball before."

"I wish I could have seen him take a bite," Amy replied.

"Ray!" I waved as he came into the classroom. He waved back a little. His eyes lit up the moment I held up the bento box.

"He looks like his jaw is going to drop," Amy started laughing, "I can't wait until he sees the amount of food you make when all of us come over."

"Did I make too much!? I guess I went a little overboard..." I sighed.

"It's okay, everyone always finishes their plate when you cook," Amy pulled out a small narrow box that she kept her chopsticks in, "Look, I brought my favorite pair to eat with."

"That makes me feel a bit better, thank you," I put the bento away again. I hope Ray likes it.

"Woah!" Ray and Amy's eyes lit up as I opened the bento box. I had used the home ec room to warm up the teriyaki and rolled omelet. Everything was ready to eat.

"Dig in," I set the lid down and opened the second layer to reveal the rest of the meal.

"You made all of this?!" Ray's hand was trembling with his chopsticks as he gazed at the picnic.

"Yeah, and," I revealed the sakura rice balls, "Sakura rice balls! Eat as many as you like."

"Amazing!" Amy was already digging in, "I never knew sakura flowers could taste this good!"

"Amy's turning pink~" Ray laughed.

"I'm already pink," she laughed.

"Too bad. If Sonic was an omega you could have claimed him as your soulmate," Ray laughed.

"That's too bad," I laughed. Why isn't Amy laughing it off?

"Really? Maybe my soulmate is a beta? I wouldn't mind a beta if it was Sonic~" she hugged my arm and started laughing.

"Eh?!"

"Ah, Sonic's got an alpha soulmate~" Ray and Amy wound up messing with me until the bento was finished.

  For some reason the thought of being Amy's omega terrifies me.

"Huh?" I caught a glimpse of Shadow as I packed up the empty bento box. He stopped and looked my way. I flinched as he made direct eye contact with me.

  He's staring at me?! Why? Why now? Ray's having a good time with us.

  I couldn't describe the absolute dread I felt as he used his index finger to single me to come to him. What the hell does he want-

I TOLD HIM I'D DO ANYTHING!!!

Idiot! Why the hell did I make a promise like that?!

"Sonic, you look a little pale," Amy sat up and placed a hand on my forehead, "What's wrong?"

"N-nothing," I laughed it off, "I'm going to put this away and get ready for class. I'll meet you guys in the classroom."

"Sonic?" They watched as I grabbed the empty bento and walked away.

  Shadow caught on without any sign. He followed me from a distance. He followed all the way back to the classroom where we were alone.

"Did you want to talk to me?" I asked the moment he closed the door.

"Yes. I have thought of something suitable for our deal," he had a smirk on his face. I gulped as I waited for him to continue, "Errand Boy."

"Eh?" Did he just say errand boy? "EH?!"
