NEXT DAY MORNING

AVNI'S POV:

I came to the park and searching for Ali and Neil but I can't find them. so, decided to go jogging. After 10 min I see Neil coming to my side but he is alone. I didn't see Ali. I thought It will be comfortable for me if he is not around us while I'm apologizing to him but still I want to know about Ali.

NEIL: Good morning

AVNI: Good morning(bright smile)

NEIL: So everything is fine. Right?

AVNI: yes, but how do u know?

NEIL: Your smile tells me everything.

AVNI: I'm really sorry for being rude to u.

NEIL: That's fine. but I don't think friends will say sorry and thanks.

AVNI: (smile) thanks for accepting me as ur friend

NEIL: Again thanks?

AVNI: OK.(signal him as zipping her mouth) where is Ali?

NEIL: (IN MIND: I can't tell her the truth. what should I tell?) He is busy. he went to the resort early.

AVNI: He seems quite busy these days.

NEIL: YEAH

AVNI: Neil

NEIL: Ha Avni?

AVNI: Actually, I don't have friends before.

NEIL: (CONFUSED) what?

AVNI: It's true

NEIL: Why?

AVNI: In school, everyone used to bully me. In university everyone afraid of me because my father is the founder of the college.

NEIL: PAST IS PAST. Now u have me. As I said before, I'm a good listener. So u can share with me everything u want. (smiles)

AVNI:(smiles back) ok

NEIL: good girl(in mind: Just open up Avni. I will always stay by your side)

AVNI: NEIL, WILL U ACCOMPANY ME TO THE TEMPLE?

NEIL: Let me think. (keeps his index finger on his chin) Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........Ok

AVNI: (SMILES) OK. If Ali is free, drag him with u.

After jogging for a while, they both leave the park.

AVNI: (Roaming in her bedroom) Papa ask me to come back but before at least I have to tell Ali about my feelings. How will I express my feelings?  What if he rejects me? Can I handle this rejection? He is my first love. How will I handle this?

ALI'S HOUSE:

NEIL: Hey Ali! When did u come? I didn't see u.

ALI: Just now(very low voice)

NEIL: Tired?

ALI: Kind of..............(after that they talk about something, I will reveal it in the upcoming chapters)

NEIL: (IN MIND: He looks so tired I can't ask him to join us. I will say something to AVNI)

NEIL: I have some work, I will be back early. take care bye.

EVENING IN TEMPLE

Avni came early and waiting for Neil. she is wearing a blue saree with a white embroidery blouse. Neil leaves his car and comes towards the entrance. When he sees Avni in a saree, he mesmerized by her beauty. when Avni sees him, she gives a beautiful bright smile to him. He didn't realize when he started blushing. He composed himself and walk towards her. 

NEIL: U look so horrible in this saree. (with a teasing smile)

AVNI: What?

NEIL: haha.... sorry ... U look so beautiful.

AVNI: Thank u. By the way, where is Ali?

NEIL:(in mind: What should I tell her?)

AVNI: Busy?

NEIL: ha. ha. Busy.

AVNI: That's fine. (bit sad)

They went inside. After darshan, they both sit on temple steps. Avni is trying to break the coconut to eat. while Neil keeps staring at her.

NEIL: Do u believe in God?

AVNI: Why? Don't believe in him?

NEIL: Hmmmmm.......(humming sound)

AVNI: What?

NEIL: If things are happening according to our wish, we don't even think about him. whenever we are confused, things are not according to our wish, we will ask him to help. It's so funny.

AVNI: But for me, things are according to my wish?

NEIL: (He came dangerously close to her and look into her eyes) You confused about something? What is it?

AVNI:(Breathing heavily) Nothing(turn her face away)

NEIL: REALLY?

AVNI: BYE...

NEIL: Ok baba sorry. Just tell me y u called me here.

AVNI: As u said, we are friends now. so, now we have to know each other. so tell me.

NEIL: Ladies first.

AVNI: SERIOUSLY!!!!!

NEIL: Yes

AVNI: This is Avni Mehta.I live in Mumbai. My dad's name is Ashish Mehta. He is a businessman. He is very busy that he will make a schedule to meet his daughter i.e, me. My mom's name is Ayesha Mehta. She passed away when I was 10. I grow up with help of my caretaker and I call her Nanno. I love to travel but my dad wants me to look after his company. so I said him that I want some time to think about it and came here. Now I'm living in my mom's house(before she gets married). Yesterday I talk to my father, he said his happiness lies in my happiness. Now I'm so happy. Thank you, Neil. Thank you so much. (Neil smiles)

AVNI: Now it's ur turn.

NEIL: This is Neil Khanna. I live in Mumbai with my dad, mom, and Bebe. 2 years back I went to America for my master's. One week back I returned. 3 days back I came here because I miss my buddy, Ali. we are best friends since kindergarten. We are more like brothers. I love my family so much. My dad also a businessman. I want to look after his company. Now I made a new friend, she has some mental problems and her name is Avni Mehta. 

AVNI: (Glare at him) I hate u.

NEIL:(in mind: I like u) feelings are mutual.

AVNI: go away.

NEIL: ok sorry.

AVNI: (Smiles) hmm

NEIL: ur happy now?

AVNI: yes, I'm.

NEIL: Then fine.

AVNI: ok then shall we leave now?

NEIL: YEAH.
