Chapter 39: Match

"Stone and I are twins."

"Weh? Sino namang may sabi?"

Naiiling na lumapit ako sa pinagpatungan ni Eris ng mga dala niya kanina at kinuha ko ang kahon. Lumapit ako sa kanila pero mukhang hindi naman nila ako napapansin. Good.

Nilabas ko ang dalawang bracelet na nasa box. Both of them are silver pero iyong isa ay may kulay asul na bato habang ang isa naman ay kulay pink. It has a clasp with a small timer on it. Freezale asked the experiment department for these.

May tradisyon kasi sa BHO CAMP. For some reason, halos lahat ng nagiging maid of honor at best man ay nagkakatuluyan sa huli. It's something that all of us laughed at but then here we are now.

It's a gift for those who wants it but it's a curse for those who are still running away from it. Kaya nga para wala ng atrasan ay meron kaming bracelets para sa maid of honor at best man. Kaniya-kaniya ng trip. May iba namimili sa mismong araw ng kasal, may iba na dalawa ang maid of honor, at may iba katulad ngayon ng dalawang tao na nasa harapan ko na walang choice. Eris is my sister so of course she would be my maid of honor and Blaze's is Stone's brother so he's the best man.

I'm just going to make it official by calling the attention of fate.

Napangisi ako nang parehas silang mapatingin sa akin. I gave them an innocent look when I squeezed down the bracelets that are now on their wrists, locking it in place. It's not lose so they won't be able to take it off and it's also not too tight that they will lose circulation.

"You're crazy," Eris said to me. "That won't work."

"Narinig ko na 'yan."

"It won't work."

Lalo lang lumawak ang pagkakangiti ko. Nilingon ko si Blaze at nakita kong naniningkit ang mga mata niya habang nakatingin sa akin. "What?"

"Hindi kita kilala."

Napatawa ako sa sinabi niya dahil minsan ko na rin na sinabi iyon sa kaniya noong naiirita ako sa kaniya. Binigyan niya ng masamang tingin ang kapatid ko na tinaasan lang siya ng kilay bago naglakad ang lalaki palabas ng kuwarto.

When the door closed, Eris wiped away the irritation on her face when she turned to me. "Are you ready?"

"I think so." Hindi naman kasi ako kinakabahan. I don't have the wedding jitters or cold feet. I'm just surprisingly calm. "How's our mother?"

"She's fine. Dapat si Papa ang kinakamusta mo."

Last night, Eris and my mother surprised me by knocking into my room. We talked until midnight at dito na rin sila natulog. My mom didn't cry and she wasn't emotional but even without telling me I know she's trying to adjust at the thought that I'm really getting married though technically I am already married.

The first time Stone and I did it was for the wrong reason since it was for a mission but now we're doing it for ourselves. Because this is our choice. We chose to be together and I don't have plans to ever forget this day.

"Is he okay?" I asked.

"He's brooding."

I just smiled at that. My father will always be my father. Alam ko na parehas sila ni Mama ay inaasahan na 'to. After all that happened between me and Stone... I know they've been expecting this. But that doesn't mean that my father will easily accept the thought of one of his daughters being a bride.

Bumukas ang pintuan at sumilip doon ang wedding planner ko na si Jia. Nakangiting tinanguhan ko siya bago ko binalingan si Eris. Inangat niya ang suot ko na veil na nasa likod ng ulo ko at isinaklob niya iyon sa akin. Pagkatapos no'n ay inabot niya sa akin ang kulay asul ko na bouquet.
