CHAPTER 30: WANT
ENYO'S POV
"I hate you."
Nginisihan ko lang si Athena na katulad ko ay nakahiga sa isa sa mga lounger na nandito sa pool area ng headquarters. We both have big eyeglasses on but I'm wearing it more for the sake of wearing one but she's wearing it because she has a terrible hangover.
I wake up with one but after breakfast, ibuprofen, and a post-coital of sort bliss thanks to Stone... now I'm happy as a peach.
"Sinong nag go-glow after being drunk as fuck the other night? Sure ka bang tao ka?"
"May hangover cure ako."
Her head turned to me. "Ano?"
"I was flat out drunk last night but I remembered your suggestions. Stone was generous enough this morning to let me try the two things you suggested." Nakasimangot na humalukipkip siya dahilan para mapatawa ako. "Wala kang hangover cure?"
"He's still asleep when I left because apparently the twins kept him awake all night. At dahil alam niyang magkakaro'n ako ng hangover, he knew that I'm going to be lounging here while he will be left alone with the twins again." Pinaikot niya ang mga mata niya. "I told Aiden to come. He's bringing Ainsley kaya bahala silang dalawa."
Napailing na lang ako sa sinabi niya. Hindi pa rin talaga nawawala ang pagkamangha ko sa co-parenting na ginagawa nilang tatlo. Aiden is Athena's certified asshole of an ex-boyfriend who's now an ex-asshole. Hindi na bago para sa amin na makita silang magkasamang tatlo. Athena and Aiden have Ainsley and Athena is now married to Fiere and they have the twins.
There's tension between Fiere and Aiden before but after awhile they manage to became sort of friends. Lalo pa at sila ang laging naiiwan sa mga bata kapag naiisipan ni Athena na magkaro'n ng "Me Time" niya.
Nahugot ako mula sa iniisip nang bumukas ang pinto ng pool area at pumasok ang isang tao na pamilyar ako. Nagkatinginan kami ni Athena at umangat ang isa niyang kilay bago muling bumaling sa lalaki.
Looks like Hugo manage to pass the Junior test. He's here in the main headquarters instead of being at Grounds where the trainees are staying.
"Wow," bulong ni Athena.
I didn't vocalize the thought it my head but it was the same thing she said. Parehas naming pinanood na tanggalin ni Hugo ang suot niya na t-shirt. He's really a big guy. He's ripped and he looks like he could kill by just crushing his opponent. The pool made a huge splash when he dived down swiftly and Athena and I shared a look again.
"Nagkakasala ang mga mata ko," sabi niya.
"Sa tingin mo may girlfriend na 'yan?"
Naningkit ang mga mata niya, "Ipapaalala ko lang ha? Kasal ka na, ateng."
