Jesse nodded in agreement. "Kittens are so cute! They're precious!" He said excitedly.
The smile on Jesse's face made my heart squeeze.
How long has it been since he smiled like this?
I sighed and took his hand in mine before bringing it close to my lips. Jesse looked at me in surprise when I pecked his hand.
He blushed and turned away from me as soon as we made eye contact.
We've been together for so long but my baby still gets shy around me.

"Oh my god, they're all so cute! I'm gonna cry, " Jesse said as he looked around the shelter. Little puppies were all running around and some were chasing after Jesse.
Dylan was busy looking at the kittens while I stood there and watched Jesse play with all the puppies clinging to him.
"Guys, look at him, " Dylan called us and we turned around to see him holding a kitten in his hands.
"Oh my god! " Jesse quickly ran towards his best friend. "A cute little fluff ball! " He squealed.
"Yes, look at his ears, " Dylan pointed out.
The kitten had small ears and it only made him look extra cute.
"That's because he's a scottish fold kitten, sir, " One of the workers said.
"Oh, that's cool, " Dylan smiled at the worker as he continued to pet the kitten who snuggled close to him.
"Are you going to adopt him? " Jesse asked with starry eyes.
"I want to… Do you think Jake will like him?" Dylan asked me, making me let out a chuckle.
"Don't worry, he'll like it. I mean who won't like such a cute thing? " I laughed.
Dylan chuckled before he nodded. "We'll take him, " He said to the worker who smiled.
"You need to fill up a form, sir. Please come with me," She said before walking away.
"I'll be right back, guys, " Dylan told us and followed the nurse with the kitten in his hands.
"Oh baby, what are you doing? "
I turned to see Jesse talking to a puppy who was tugging on his pants.
"I think he wants to play, " I smiled.
Jesse cooed, taking the puppy into his hands. " Aww...Do you want to play, baby? Will you be a good boy?" He scratched the puppy's head and the puppy yelped as if it's replying to Jesse.
My boyfriend gasped like he just heard his firstborn say its first words. "Oh, yes! You're a good boy. You're bubbly little snow pumpkin, " He cooed at the adorable puppy.
"Tristan, touch him! He's so fluffy, " Jesse told me excitedly.
I couldn't help but smile wide as I pet the puppy.
I should have done this before.
Jesse played around with the puppy for a few more minutes before Dylan came back.
"Guys, let's go. It's all settled, " He said with the kitten in his hands.
I saw Jesse's smile falter. "What? Already? " He sulked as he stood up.
The puppy ran around Jesse, barking to get his attention.
"Sorry, little guy...but I have to go now… " He said to the puppy who whined at his change of tone.
My boyfriend stood up with a gloomy expression which made my heart clench.
"Do you want him? " I asked suddenly, making Jesse pause in surprise.
"What? " Jesse asked me wide-eyed as if to make sure he heard me right.
I chuckled. "Do you want to adopt him? " I asked again, causing him to gasp.
"Oh my god! Really? Are you asking me seriously? Yes! Yes! I want him! " Jesse whisper shouted as he ran towards me. He hugged me tight and pecked my lips before smiling wide at me.
I was frozen on my spot after he did that.
Jesse never really initiated a kiss after that incident. It was always me who gave him little pecks and kisses but now… now he just did that all of a sudden.
"Great! Now go tell the worker over there that you want to adopt him and fill-up the form, " Dylan pushed me towards the direction he came from.
I couldn't help but smile wide like an idiot as I walked towards the workers.
Jesse is such an angel.
I'll protect him forever.
