It's been a little over two weeks since I told Vin about my whole apartment situation. I was trying not to get sad about it, but it was clear that I was bothered.

Luckily, my mom was getting job offers, but none of them compared to what she had before. She didn't want to agree to a binding contract where she had to work somewhere for a few years before she could leave if they were gonna pay her so much less than before.

I told her what Vinnie came up with for the time being, and let's just say that it was difficult to convince her that it was a good idea.

*flashback to conversation with Mom*

Mom: Hey, Angel. How are you holding up?
Y/n: I'm dealing with it. I don't think it's going to be as bad as we think, Mom.
Mom: I'm so sorry that this is affecting you.
Y/n: Hey, don't apologize. We couldn't have expected it. It's not your fault.
Mom: Well, I got in an argument with him. I should've just kept my mouth shut.
Y/n: No you shouldn't have. Mom, you always told me to stand up for myself and to trust my gut. That guy was being a dickhead. Sorry for my language, but he was. You're gonna find another job. Don't worry about me.
Mom: I appreciate that, Y/n. But, it's my job as your mother to worry about you. You're on the other side of the country and the dorm situations at school are not ideal.

I wondered how I should tell her. I didn't want her to freak out, but I felt like ripping off the bandaid was better than beating around the bush.

Y/n: Mom, I'm not going to the dorms.
Mom: What do you mean? You can't exactly stay in your apartment.
Y/n: I found another solution.
Mom: Well, please enlighten me.

I knew I should've just gotten straight the the point.

Y/n: I'm going to live with Vinnie.
Mom: Like hell you are!
Y/n: Mom, it will only be temporary. Just until we get back on our feet.
Mom: Y/n, I'm not stupid. You're a sophmore in college. Vinnie doesn't even go to school. You expect me to believe that you'll be productive living with your boyfriend.
Y/n: It won't be that much of a change. I go there everyday now.
Mom: Well, this is the first I'm hearing of that. How do you have time for school if you're with him everyday?
Y/n: I do work at his house. Mom, you know I'm doing well. You don't have to worry about me.

Mom: Clearly, I do. If you think it's a good idea to move in with your boyfriend, who you've only been dating for like two months, then I have a whole other thing to worry about.
Y/n: Mom, I was skeptical at first, too. But he talked to his manager and she said that everything would be okay.
Mom: His manager? Ohhh, I forgot he lives in a house with all those people. Absolutely not. There's no way you're moving in there.
Y/n: Do you trust me?
Mom: Yes.
Y/n: Do you trust Vinnie?
Mom: No.
Y/n: What! Why?

That was a stupid question. I knew why. She knew that I knew why, too.

Mom: Don't be coy. You know why. If anything were to happen again, you would be homeless!
Y/n: I don't think that anything like that is ever going to happen again. If it does, it won't be right away. We'll have time to sort things out. Like I said, this is temporary.
Mom: Would you have your own room?
Y/n: U-Uh- um well...
Mom: You see? Absolutely not.
Y/n: Mom, I'm responsible.
Mom: I don't want my financial problems to lead us to more financial problems when you get pregnant!
Y/n: Mom, no! I'm not going to get pregnant.
Mom: That's what they all say. You expect me to believe that you have a boyfriend that looks like him and you're not getting up to anything?

Oh? Did she just... did she just say that looks like him?? Why is she questioning me about my sex life??? Aghhhh, I can't handle this!! I don't want her to know what I get up to. I don't want her to even have to think about the idea of me having sex. Ew!!
