MJ POV

Don't wanna have me then somebody will
I'm playing
Weight on my chest like I body build
I'm praying
You ain't content with trying to do your thang
And come back baby boomerang, rang

"Alright," Austin said, pressing on the pause button hard. "It's good MJ, enough. Stop being meticulous and let's move on. You keep tryna make changes and it might not come out Saturday."

"I need this to be good," I said, pacing a little.

"It is good," Everybody in the studio responded.

"Now let's work on something else, please," Bruno practically begged. "We've been here for hours and we haven't gotten anything else done."

"My bad for trying to make sure my lead single doesn't fail." I mumbled, going to sit on the couch.

Ya boy finally had his lead single.

It was called 'All I Want Is You'. It was one of the songs that I freestyled in the booth, when Austin accidentally played the beat. This was the first sad song for the second part of the album that I could finish. It helped a lot to have this upcoming rapper, J Cole, hop on the track.

I was releasing it on the year anniversary of when everything went to shit in my relationship.

I was hoping it would make Jade want to reach out, but I doubted.

Still, it didn't hurt to try.

"It won't," Mica assured me. "Now can we please get to work on something else? You got one song for the second half of the album, let's get some more done."

"I guess," I mumbled, heading into the booth. I got situated in front of the mic before looking at them through the glass. Phil pressed the talk button.

"We doing 'Adorn' now or what?" I stared blankly at him and they all sucked their teeth. "What we doing MJ?!?"

"Today I don't feel like doing anything," I joked and they all groaned. As they did, a melody popped in my head.

"I swear to G-"

"Shh!!" I shushed him.

"He's lost his monkey ass mind," I heard Austin say as I started humming.

"Today I don't feel like doing anything," I sang lowly. "I just want to lay in my bed..." I took the headphones off and quickly grabbed my acoustic guitar. I played around with the chords. "Today I... no." I slowed down the guitar. I was playing too fast. "Today I..." I finally caught the rhythm. "Today I don't feel like doing anything, I just wanna lay in my bed... don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone, cause today I swear I'm not doing anything..." In my head, drums started playing, so I kept going. "I'm gonna kick my feet up, then stare at the fan, turn the TV on, throw my hand in my pants, nobody's gon' tell me I can't.. nah, I'll be lounging on the couch, just chilling in my Snuggie, click to MTV, so they can teach me how to dougie cause in my castle I'm the freaking man... Oh Yes! I said it, I said it, I said it 'cause I can..."

An hour later, we were listening to the finished product of 'The Lazy Song'. This is how I knew I had good chemistry with the rest of the guys. They could understand and pull out the music that I was hearing in my head.

"I don't know where this fits in with the rest of your album, but at least we did something," Bruno said as he and Phil high five.

"Yeah, and we should probably call it one now," I said, rubbing my forehead. Everybody looked at me like I was nuts.
