The next morning, I sleep in. I can because my school starts late. I usually get up early ,but today I didn't feel like it, and Sophia said I could. After I drag myself out of bed and into some clothes, I brush out my hair. Then, I look into mirror. I see a somewhat tall girl, with blond hair and red eyes. My hair is dyed blond, because I'm mikmaq. Sophia thought I should dye it blond when I came to live with her. I'm not trying to hid my birth religion, we just thought this was best. In my skin, it's hard to tell because that look just isn't how I turned out. I keep looking down. Under my capris, I see plastic. It's my artificial leg. When my birth family died, I was diagnosed with cancer. I lose the bottom half of my right leg to it.

I didn't want to, but I got ready for school and headed out. This was going to be a hard Friday. I gathered my stuff and headed to the bus stop. I stood alone there.
