"GRYIFFINDOR!" the hat roared above my head.

I smiled and took the seat next to Ron as the table screamed excitedly for me. It was brilliant.

"Harry James Potter." Professor McGonagall said.

Suddenly the room became eerily silent. Harry approached the stool in the front and whispers could be heard. He took the seat. I couldn't hear what the hat was saying but it seemed to be taking it's time deciding where to place him. He eventually joined our table and the crowd went wild again. I giggled. It seemed to be a fun group of people.

After the feast another Weasley boy escorted us to our common room. The twins decided to walk with me hooking me by each arm.

"Let's keep our talk on the train a secret.. Okay?" George whispered in my ear.

Ron explained to me the differences between the boys. They were far and few between that sometimes even their own mother confused them.

"Wouldn't want the prank to be spoiled now would we?" Fred said on my other side.

I giggled and shook my head. If nothing else I could keep a secret. I watched the stairs twist and turn as we finally approached a portrait. The woman in it was singing and stopped finally allowing us entrance. If that wasn't cool enough I was told that all of our luggage had been placed in our rooms and I was staying with Hermione. Before going up the steps I turned to the twins and Lee giving them a wink.

The next day

To say the meals in Hogwarts were feasts may have been understated. Breakfast just like everything else in the castle was grand. My classes were okay until we got to Riding lessons.

Neville had been escorted to the Hospital wing and a blonde haired boy picked up his Rememball. It all happened quickly. Harry chasing him and being escorted off the field by McGonagall. Everyone thought he was going to be kicked out.

"I'm going to be a seeker. Can you imagine?" Harry said to Ron and I excitedly.

Rather than being expelled he was offered a position as the Seeker for the Gryffindor team. I could detect a hint of jealousy from Ron but he encouraged Harry.

After Charms class I was walking with Hermione discussing our lesson.

"It's LeviOoosa. Not Leviosaaa." Ron mocked her.

I frowned hearing it and Hermione started crying running past. She bumped into his shoulder and I caught up to Ron before finding Hermione.

"She wanted to help, you know. No need to be a prat about it." I said to him as I had finally caught up to her in our room.

"I only wanted to help. He's so mean."She cried into my shoulder.

"I know. He's just jealous he couldn't perform the spell as well as you." I said half-jokingly.

Once we calmed down we went to read together in the common room. Even though it was the first day of classes the teachers had all assigned us homework.

"Freddie, I think we need to--" I heard a voice say from behind me.

"Our little Sparks. Maybe she has a better opinion." Lee said.

The trio walked up and took seats at the table Hermione and I were seated in.

"Ms. Sparks, if I were to offer you the chance to make your enimies tounge enlarge so much that they couldn't speak wouldn't you purchase it?" George asks.

"Or rather, have your enemy swell up like a ballon and float away?" Fred asks.

"Neither, albeit those ideas are wonderful. What about making them take both and be suspended in the air whilst being weighed down by their tounge?" I said laughing.

"Now there's an idea." Lee said giving me a thumbs up.

I hear a loud sigh and watch Hermione gathering her books. I had forgotten we were supposed to be studying.

"I'll see you later?"she asked. I nodded and returned to the conversations with the boys about prank ideas.

After dinner I had a lesson in Potions. I was excited. I always imagined a life as a healer. The road would be hard but the end result would be even better.

Suddenly the door slammed behiind us, making us all jump.

"There won't be any silly wand waving in this class. I can teach you many things..." the teacher started. He was a tall man with greasy hair. He suddenly slammed on Harry's desk and the teacher started asking him questions. Hermione waved her hand excitedly and we lost house points from both Harry's lack and Hermione's abundance of knowledge. I decided then and there that in potions I was best off to keep my head down.

Leaving the classroom I bumped into the back of the boy who had stolen Neville's ball.

"Watch where-" he said spinning on his heels to yell.

He stopped and realized who I was. I muttered a sorry as I tried to pass him. Two fairly larger boys stepped in front of me blocking my path.

"Draco... Draco Malfoy. You're Amber Sparks." he said as if I should know who he was.

I nodded and must have looked frightened because Malfoy had turned around and shot the two larger boys a look causing them to move.

"I'll see you around Sparks."he said as I started to walk away. I stopped mid-step and turned to face him.

"May I ask.. how do you know me?" I inquired. I knew some people seemed to know who I was, like Ron.

"Does the name Malfoy mean nothing to you?" he asked. I shook my head and he scoffed.

"Our fathers are friends, you know Lucius Malfoy? They were in Slytherin house together. It's a wonder you ended up in Gryffindor with Potter. No worry, just stick with us and you'll find your way." Draco said a little too proudly.

"Sorry, I don't know... "I said to him.

"That's unfortunate. You've been to my home a few times if you don't recall. It's been a few years but in due time." he said allowing me to pass him.
