♡ Part 135: First embrace, first smile ♡

sakura shot her eyes wide. 

hidan: what's up bitches!!!!

naruto: we made it 'ttebayo!

sasuke and shikamaru simply smirked and made their way to where they noticed a row of 4 open seats. sakura plopped herself back down onto her seat, the quiet air that filled the room was somewhat awkward although sakura's eyes were still left wide yet darted towards kakashi and not the newcomers.

the only sounds to be heard were the audible, squishy noises that the 4 newcomers made from their soaked clothes and shoes. 

kakashi: and now, to continue my speech. 

the 4 newcomers took their seats, the uchiha taking the seat that was right beside the pinkette who had been thinking of him this entire time. he scanned over her for a second before turning his head to the front where sakura had been staring this entire time. 

sasuke: i made it. 

sakura's widened eyes began to blur. 

sasuke: i was late for the right reasons, but i'm here. 

he took a gentle hold of her hand and faintly squeezed it. 

sasuke: let's graduate together, sakura. 

sakura flickered her eyes to the side and met the gaze of the person she loved dearly. his smile was genuine and he was out of breath, although she tied her eyebrows and tightened her intertwined fingers with sasuke. 

sakura: you're finally here. 

she offered a closed eye smile. 

sakura: let's do this together, sasuke!

the ceremony finished and they were all happy to finally take their diplomas and say that another chapter of their 'eternity' would begin. everyone stood with their loved ones and took photos. 

obito: i feel like i'm going to cry!

the married uchiha hugged his nephew. 

obito: i'm so proud of you, sasu-chan!! but, what was that entrance earlier? 

he chuckled and rin shook her head with a smile. 

rin: we're so proud of you, sasuke!

kushina: smile, kakashi!

kakashi: i am smiling. 

kushina: take off your mask!

kakashi: i'd rather be stuck in the same room as obito for an hour than do that. 

obito playfully pouted and wrapped an arm around the masked man to get into the photo as well. sakura, kakashi, and obito took a few photos together and everyone else did the same. eventually, after spending roughly 2 hours on just photos, sasuke intertwined his fingers with sakura and smiled. 

sasuke: we'll be back. 

he dragged her out of the main hall room and outside where the sun had already set. so much time had passed and they hadn't noticed that it was already dark outside, although neither of them minded. 

sakura: what kind of 'fashionably late' entrance was that? it was weird. 

she laughed and sasuke adjusted himself in his shoes that were still somewhat wet. 

sasuke: it's all naruto's fault, but that's not a big deal anymore. 

he glanced down to his bracelet that gracefully wrapped around his wrist. 

sasuke: we graduated. 

he took a seat onto the nearby bench and removed his ceremony gown, revealing his suit that was also wet. sakura's eyes widened and she quickly removed her gown as well to show her lover something that she found quite ironic. 

they both locked eyes in a teasing way. 

sakura: this can't be a coincidence. 

sasuke: i guess it is. 

he chuckled and extended his hand out to sakura. 

sasuke: sit with me. 

sakura's grin widened and she sat herself right to sasuke's side, making their arms press against each other. 

sakura: it's a weird coincidence for me to buy a red dress, and for you to get a dress shirt that is the same colour. weird. 

she cocked a mischievous brow. 

sakura: don't tell me you've been stalking me?

the raven practically choked over air and sakura let out her own share of laughter once again. 

sasuke: yeah, right. whatever makes you sleep at night. 

he wrapped an arm around her and planted a kiss onto her cheek. the feeling of their high school experience ending finally sunk deep into them. their smiles faded and their expressions fell flat. 

sakura: we're no longer kids, i guess. 

sasuke: the dobe still is. 

she let out an empty chuckle. 

sakura: everyone's going their separate ways, some even moving out of the region for whatever career they want. 

she sighed. 

sakura: but you and i are staying together, doesn't that make us lucky? we both get to stay together and have jobs that we love. sasuke, you're going to be the captain of the national hockey team, isn't that great?

the raven's expression serenely softened. 

sasuke: yeah, it's great. out career paths are linked, that's what makes it better hmph. 

he brought his face closer to the side of her face and planted another kiss. 

sasuke: together, okay?

sakura turned her head to the side and locked lips with the man she loved. 

they were no longer kids who were looking for a future that would please themselves, they were now living the reality of that future that they worked so hard for.

sasuke and sakura worked hard to come to the place that they're in today─ having faced so many obstacles in their relationship, many people would have left their partners in attempt of finding a relationship that was 'easier' or less 'troublesome'. 

sasuke and sakura didn't care for the obstacles, they only cared for each other and that was the reason behind the success of their relationship. 

sakura unlocked their lips and brought their foreheads together. 

sakura: together. 

her cheeks flushed a faint shade of red and sasuke's smile widened. the two of them simultaneously wrapped their arms around each other and shared their first embrace after graduating high school 

their lives had many more obstacles to come, although they knew that if they've come this far, then nothing could refrain them from continuing to stay this way. 

'anko-sensei, i made someone smile"
