kakashi: they're searching for the bracelet is what you said?
kushina reciprocated a firm nod.
kushina: naruto lost it at the field and now they're looking.
hiruzen: and now, a few words from a former teacher whose memory remains in all of our hearts and has taught many of us lessons that shall not be forgotten, hatake kakashi.
kakashi stood up to his feet and a round of applause was given. he trudged his way to the front of the hall and offered a small bow before making his way to the mic. he could feel all the intensified gazes that were on him and his suit, although he cleared his throat and eyed the only pinkette in the room.
kakashi: my name is kakashi hatake and i was a former educator in this school. i was the coach for the school's boy's hockey team, and i have a few words to share with every person who will be graduating konoha high this year.
his lips curved into a sweet smile.
kakashi: congratulations for making it this far.
he watched the way sakura's smile softened.
kakashi: you've all come a far way in not only your academics, but with your friendships and overall lives. you've all made it through tough times together and understood what it meant to rely on someone when you couldn't rely on yourself. you learned how to unlearn. you learned how to achieve your academic goals with your effort that was over the roof.
he paused.
kakashi: and most importantly, you've all learned why it was like to build bonds with the people you once only called your 'comrade'. your comrades have become your friends, and your friends have become people you cannot forget even when you all plan on going separate ways.
TO SAKURA
listening to kakashi's speech made her feel at ease, although the empty seats that were beside her made her heart feel somewhat heavy. sasuke was supposed to be beside her, but he wasn't. her lips pressed hard into a thin line.
'sasuke, where are you?'
she shook her head and her smile slowly turned into a sad one. what could he be possibly doing at a time like this? she didn't know.
kakashi: and for the futures you've all imagined yourselves having, they will no longer be imaginations, but will be a reality that you've all worked and strived for.
sakura's eyes began to sting.
she wasn't going to enjoy this graduation ceremony without sasuke, she couldn't. this wasn't something that she should've celebrated without them because truthfully, sasuke was the reason why she could do some of the things she had done.
if it weren't for sasuke, she would be lost in what kind of life she'd want to have.
with a stern expression plastered onto her face, she stood up to her feet and prepared herself to leave the room to find sasuke.
kakashi: make the most of what will come your way, make the most of what's happening in the moment. for all of eternity─
the doors to the hall were shot wide open and all eyes snapped towards it. sakura refused to look at the door because she didn't want to be disappointed if it wasn't the person she was longing for, and so she squeezed her shut eyes tighter while still standing.
kakashi: welcome.
his small chuckle echoed from the microphone.
kakashi: thank you for making a historical entrance, this is the captain of the school's boy's hockey team, sasuke uchiha. i may also welcome my other hockey aces, shikamaru, naruto, and hidan.
