The Old Guard *part 3* (Peter Parker)

Start from the beginning

"There's something different about you. You're as old as Steve, and you're a soldier, so you must have died countless times. But yesterday was the first time that I felt you die. As if it was your first time." I scoffed and shook my head.

"Is that what it's like for you naturals?" he smirked. My eyebrows furrowed at his comment.

"What do you mean by that?" Peter asked as he also walked forwards so that he was beside me. Bucky's smirk widened as he shook his head.

"You Avengers are so ignorant-."

"How about you educate us then?" Steve nodded. Bucky chuckled before returning his gaze to me.

"There are two types of immortals in this world: your kind, the ones born naturally with the gift. And my kind. The kind created by HYDRA." He admitted. My eyes widened.

"No...how is that even possible?" Tony asked.

"It's not, he must be lying." I shook my head.

"Oh, but I'm not. You said yourself that you shouldn't have been able to feel me die, since it wasn't the first time. That's the best bit about this. You natural immortals can feel us die every single time. You will always feel our pain." He spat. I choked, my eyes wavering as a tear fell from them.

"That's impossible...you're lying, the Gods purposefully gave us the gift of only feeling someone's death once so that we could find them, they never intended for us to feel every one-."

"But I wasn't made by the Gods." He smirked and shook his head. I gulped, nothing but fear in my mind at his words.

"Y/N, we need to talk." Steve mumbled quietly. I gulped again and nodded, my gaze glued to Bucky.

"FRIDAY, tell me if he so much as tries to sneeze without my permission." Tony ordered.

"Will do, boss." She responded as Steve gently led Peter and I out, Tony following before shutting the door. As soon as it was shut, they all looked at me.

"Y/N, is any of what he's saying true? Because if it is, we're in serious trouble." Tony nodded.

"It must be. I've felt many other immortals die in my twenty years, but they've always been that person's first death. It's like I said, the Gods knew that we'd suffer enough living forever, so they only gave us the pain of having to feel another's death once so that we could find them and be stronger in numbers. I have no idea how else I'd be able to feel it, unless it was HYDRA who made Bucky like that." I nodded. The guys sighed and looked at each other.

"I can sense a mission to HYDRA coming." Peter stated.

"We have to. If HYDRA have the abilities to make more immortal soldiers like Bucky, we may as well say goodbye to life as we know it. Suit up. We'll leave this afternoon." Steve demanded. We all nodded, Peter's hand landing on my waist as we made our way back to our room.

I paced the hallway outside of the command room in which Bucky was being held, thinking as I waited for the others to get ready for our mission. I gulped, my heart and mind racing as I paced in front of the large metal doors. I allowed my gaze to slightly shift towards the room every few seconds before shaking myself out of it. If Bucky was telling the truth, if HYDRA had the ability to make immortal soldiers, we were all in serious fucking trouble. I gulped, my gaze flicking to the door once again.

"Fuck it." I mumbled before walking towards the doors. They opened automatically and I walked in, my eyes immediately widening at what I saw. The glass cell was empty.

"GUYS!" I yelled before turning around to rush out of the room. But I was stopped in my tracks, a gasp leaving my lips as Bucky now stood in between me and the door, with a gun in his hands. My eyes widened.

"Bucky, don't do this-." He raised the gun and shot straight at my chest, killing me instantly as my body fell to the floor.

Peter's P.O.V

Peter stood in his and Y/N's room, clicking his web fluid into his shooters in order to get ready for the mission. Suddenly, the hairs on the back of his neck stood up, making his head raise. His eyebrows furrowed, the boy holding his breath to help his Spidey senses pick up any audible evidence for what was making them go crazy. Suddenly, he heard a gunshot, making his eyes widen.

"Shit." He gulped as he rushed out of his room and into the hall. He ran into the foyer, his eyes widening as he saw Bucky running out of the building. With what looked to be Y/N's dead body over his shoulder.

"Y/N, NO!" he yelled, alerting Bucky to his presence. His eyes widened as the soldier turned towards him and raised his gun.

"Oh, shit-." Bucky started firing, making Peter groan as he hid behind the wall and out of line of the bullets. The spray stopped, allowing Peter to poke his head back around the wall. He choked, his eyes wavering as Bucky was gone, taking Y/N with him.

"What the fuck is going on?!" he looked at the elevator to see Tony and Steve rushing out of it.

"Bucky escaped, and he took Y/N. He killed her." Peter choked.

"Shit. Right, fuck waiting until this afternoon, we go now. We'll get her back, kid, alive. I promise." Steve nodded. Peter gulped and returned it as he ran after the men as they headed to the jetti pad.
