Chapter 16

“There you are!” A voice said behind me. “I've been looking for you since this morning. Where have you been?”

“Here, obviously.”

“This was the first place I check.”

“Perhaps not well enough.”

“Why? Are you avoiding him?” He asked concerned.

“I'm not.” Inhaling deeply, I tried not to cry. Tried being the operative word.”He is with Franco.”

In a blink, he was by my side. “What's wrong? Tell me!”

I shook my head. “Nothing.”

“Tell me.” He said sternly. “NOW.”

The word were begging to be said. I'm great except that I saw my Lifestream which of course means I will die soon. But I couldn't say them.

“Tell me what happened.” He urged on. “You can tell me anything.”

No, I could not. If I did the only solution was to tell Kryzstofer. He can't know what I saw.

“Mikaela...” He took my hands in his. “Please.”

“Hixak,” I looked at his face full of concern. “you can't tell Kryzstofer.”

“Tell him what?” He pulled me closer.

“I love you.”

“Is that why you cry?” He looked at me intently, searching. “Tell me. I will understand what ever it is, just tell me.”

“You can't tell him!” I insisted. “You just can't.”

“I won't.” He assured me. “Tell me.” He pulled me into an embrace.

“Tell me then.” He whispered in my hair. “Tell me.”

“I ... I saw my Lifestream in the shower.” I said into his shirt. “I saw it, touched it.”

“What?” He pulled me back slightly. “Are you sure?”

“Yes.” I sniffled. “I am sure.”

“Why haven't you seen it before?” He pulled me back into an embrace and rubbed my back.

“I wasn't paying attention?”

“I've never seen it, I can't see it now.” Hixak commented.

“I know, I can't either anymore.”

He sighed and then said, “They can't have you, I won't let them. Kryzstofer won't let them.”

“Its not a choice, Hixak.”

“We will make it so.”

“Perhaps,” I pulled away. “I've lived to long.”

“How can you say that?” He looked at me astonished.

“I have outlived 3 generations of Tresky Familie!” I inhaled. “And have led hundreds, if not thousands, to their deaths.”

“As your destiny proclaims.”

“Destiny? Why do Angel's always speak of Destinies?” I said bitterly.

“It is what we follow, our bible.”

“Oh,” I sat down. “what do I do? Wait until I die?”

“You won't.” Hixak assured me. “Trust me.”

“Ok.” I replied.

“I must leave.” Hixak took my hands and looked directly into my eyes. “I will do anything in my power to stop it, I promise.” He touched my cheek kindly before disappearing.
