Serendipitous: Louis' Story

When Louis Met Kyle

Walking out of the terminal, he couldn’t help but smile like a fool when he saw Melina standing there by the exit of the terminal.  Walking just a little faster, he passed several people, preparing to kiss Melina right then and there.  However as he got closer he couldn’t help but notice the tiny figure clutching Melina’s hand.  He stopped in his tracks as he stared.  His stare was soon returned by the blonde haired child, one whose expression echoed the same question on his mind.  ‘Who the hell are you?’

“Louis?” Melina said trying to get his attention. 

Louis finally looked up at Melina.  “Hi there,” He said softly brushing his fingers against her cheek before bending down in order to lightly kiss her lips.

“Melina!” The little blonde cried, causing Melina to look down at him and the kiss that Louis was about to plant on Melina’s lips, missed its desired location.  Louis blinked when he managed to kiss the air while Melina had bent down to help the boy retie his shoe.

“Louis this is Kyle Jillian, my neighbor. His Mom has something to do tonight so I’m looking over him just for the night.  Kyle this is Louis my,” Melina paused as she looked up at Louis.  At Louis’ expectant expression and raised brows, Melina laughed lightly as she smiled.  “My boyfriend.”

Louis grinned like the cat who ate the canary as this was the first time that he’d actually heard Melina say the word.  Melina rolled her eyes as she could easily read Louis’ face and knew that he was very smug at the moment because of her admission.  They were both too focused on each other to notice that Kyle was not so happy at the news. 

“Let’s go get your bags Louis.” Melina said standing up. It was at that moment that she saw someone trying to take a picture of them. Not wanting Kyle to be photographed, Melina hid him behind her as best as she could, holding onto his hand tightly as she began to walk towards the baggage claim.

“Of course,” Louis sighed as he realized that he was probably not getting his welcome kiss.  Instead he settled for holding Melina’s hand but as he was about to grab Melina’s free hand, Kyle switched hands to grab Melina's other hand, before Louis could. 

At the kid’s slick move, Louis stopped.  His jaw dropped when he saw the blonde haired tot look back at him over his shoulder and give Louis a nasty look accompanied with sticking out his little pink tongue. 

Louis stared in disbelief. The kid just gave him the stink eye and stuck his tongue out at him!

“I love you Melina,” Kyle said sweetly as he swung Melina’s hand while they waited for Louis’ bags. 

“I love you too,” Melina said smiling down at him. 

Louis’ jaw dropped for the second time before he looked down at the kid.  He hadn’t even told Melina that yet, granted, he could see her reaction now if he did say the L-word. She would most likely laugh at him. Then tell him to try again later… or maybe?

“I lo-”

“Don’t finish that Louis Tomlinson. We haven’t even reached any kind of landmark and we do not need you to be giving my mother any more ideas than she already has.” Melina cut him off with a look that told him he had to be joking.

Louis ran a hand through his dark locks, trying not to laugh.  Yep, he saw that one coming. However he stopped laughing when he saw the blonde haired rascal look up smugly at him.  Louis decided to take a new approach and just smiled his friendliest smile he had. However when the kid once again stuck out his tongue, Louis narrowed his eyes.  The kid was just taunting him now.
