Every night I spent alone?
Where you there,
Every night I cried myself to sleep?
Where you there,
Every time I cursed the world?
Where you there,
Every time I wanted to give up?
Have you been there this whole time?
Why can't I see you?
Am I blind?
I want to feel you,
Like I did on the mountain,
Like I did by the lake,
Like I did in the sea.
Because I've never felt you so close before as I did then--
Why can't I feel you here?
What am I doing wrong?
Because I know you're not dead,
Even if I feel like I am,
Because I see you in others--
And I want to see you in me.
