She read the email three times. He’s dead. He’s dead. He’s dead. Shock gripped and stunned her to the core. He can’t be gone. But he was.
Shock dulled her emotions for a long time. She called her best friend, who immediately started sobbing over the phone. But she couldn’t believe it was real-- it had to be a dream. But then the realization came, tears came, and pain came for the ones he had left behind. Their suffering clouded her mind and broke her heart into a tiny million pieces as tears streamed down her face. This is real.
