CHAPTER 22: I Need Space

Nicole's POV

After all l did , breaking my arms and staying healthy making sure my baby doesn't die this is what l get in return. I honestly couldn't stop the tears which were streaming down really cause l felt hopeless and useless.

And Nathan stayed with me the whole night, he comforted me, told me all will be well. I felt so secure in his arms, l hadn't slept peacefully in a while like this. He made it happen for me, but l still need space to sort myself out. Waking up in his arms was also something l had missed, and was fantasizing about. He was already awake when l opened my eyes to check if he was too, he gently smiled at me and said

"Morning angel."

Damn that voice, oh my God that nickname had missed it, not being able to cover my blush l just smiled back. I looked directly in the same eyes l got lost in, sadly and unfortunately the same eyes that destroyed me and betrayed me. Right now they had love, care and tenderness how do l know l am not falling for this again. No no no

Scooting to the other side l looked at him, with that l want to talk face and at the same time confused on what l should do.

"Nathan, (silent) l-l wanted to say thank you for being there for me and making sure that l was attended by the best doctors there could be in the town. I really appreciate it. (Smiles gently) For now l just need one favor from you, a huge one though."

"Sure what is it."

Taking a deep sigh, l just blurted out,

"I need space."

His face changed, but it was expressionless, it had no hint of what he's thinking at that moment. He did move from where he was and stood off the bed.
Holding my hand he said,

"Take al, the time you need. I am right here."

That did shock me honestly speaking considering what l had just said and here was acting cool about this. But what was in his mind, l needed to know and there was one thing that l had wanted to do ever since l saw him last night. Leaning in , not that to him it would like anything considering the space between us. Giving his hand a tight squeeze to gain his attention back to me,

He leaned in as a way of trying to see if all was well because l had winced,

"Nathan l-"

Less talking and more action, l quickly planted my lips on his, new sparks started to erupt from my body, something's started to awaken up, and brighten up. He used his hands to gently pull me closer to him so that he could explore every inch of my mouth.
I had forgotten how much of a good kisser he is and how he can be so addictive. We moved in sync, he didn't fight for any dominance, like always l enjoy him setting the pace . He didn't have to ask for permission to tangle his tongue with mine, it tasted of some coffee he had drank earlier on.

I hadn't noticed how this had become so heated and passionate and the level l was enjoying this is what l feared most especially the part he moved his hand to my thigh and gave it a tight squeeze. DAMN . Talking about being left hot and bothered here, l hope the hormones l was having as a pregnant woman are still lingering in there.
Things were going really great and that's when Iris and Alex just had to knock and didn't give us time to let go of this toxic and addictive kiss. No that we stopped the moment they were like,

"Oops, "

"Oh oh."

"Will be back."

And never was l happy really, breaking to catch some breath, l slowly opened my eyes to look at him and he looked at me adoringly. Who would resist those eyes honestly,

"I can never get enough of this."

He huskily whispered to me, bending to give me my last kiss, a long peck though. I was left there speechless as l watched him walk out of the door, he's making me regret to ask for space from him.

Within two minutes Iris was in the room with that what the hell just happened face.

"You know if someone was to ask me if you were sick and they enter to that or trust me it sure looked like you had some energy reserved somewhere there. But okay okay tell tell me. What's going on."

She had her fingers crossed but well,

"Okay dear best friend,l am feeling better thanks for asking, (note the sarcasm) And about that l might have told him to give me space before the kiss, and l regret telling him that."

As expected Iris had a confused face and she later on laughed at the ending remark. She's always like that, in all things she laughs and all that. Knock knock

"Hey Alex."

"Oh hie Iris."

"Stop acting weird okay." You will have to get used to it soon l ended in my mental.

"Okay. How's my soon to be sister in law doing today although l can say she's doing more than alright."

I laughed more of giggled at his reply, it was true though, it was as if he was my source of energy, strength ,oxygen and antidote. Damn. Alex stayed for a little while longer and left for work leaving me with Iris talk where she was telling me how Nathan was reacting during my time of hell after he saved me and the two weeks l was the sleeping beauty.

He surely is some damn sweet guy, doing his work for, the side of the bed, making sure everyone involved in this was arrested. I got myself a keeper. I don't know what Iris said lastly cause all l was thinking about was Nathan, moments shared and moments we were going to share together. I am a woman l also fantasize okay,

"Nicole."

Iris just had to interrupt my good fantasy, she looked too cool cause she didn't even get pissed off or anything.

"I am leaving for work."

And that gives me the whole day to see my dreams and fantasize more till she comes back.

Oh Lord help me
