Chapter 22

LEAH’S POV

I was happy, Jason and I had somewhat of an argument but now thing were back to being great.

Diner was amazing, chicken, rice and a salad.  Sitting at the table in front of each other and we just talked and laughed.   It was great.

Jason had told me that he spent the day handing out resumes to get a job.  He said some of them, the owners or managers, were nice and other not so much, certainly when they asked if he had any priors or a criminal record.  Then a lot of them would kind of say thanks but no thanks.  He was a little discouraged but still determined which I was really proud.  He said he would do the same thing tomorrow and the next day until he found something.

After diner, he told me he wanted to take a shower and get cleaned up, which made me laugh.  So I cleaned out the table, did the dishes and put the left over’s back into the fridge.

When he was done showering and getting dressed and all, he came back into the living room and laughed when he saw me playing my game with the ball.

‘What?’ I asked.

‘You’re funny.’ He said.

‘Why, because I’m having fun with a ball?’ I asked.

‘Yeah.’ He answered laughing.

I knew there was a double meaning to his comment and mine but neither one of us said anything about it.

He sat on the couch next to me, and when the ball was coming back to me he caught it and stole it.  It happened fast, so I had to do a double take, then I looked at him and he had already through the ball back at the wall.

‘You did not just do that.’ I said, looking at him with shocked eyes.

‘Yup, what are you doing to do about it?’ he said chuckling.

I was a little speechless.

So I didn’t move, watching him play but I kept counting, keeping track of the details of how he played.

After a few minutes, I knew I had a good shot so I moved a little on the couch but not so much to get his attention.

When he through the ball, my hand went fast to his side stomach and I squeezed once, to tickle him and get his attention off the ball.  It worked like a charm, he did this high pitch sound, of being tickled and taken by surprised at the same time.  His face turned to see me, and I didn’t look.  I brought my hand forward and caught the ball.

Once the ball was safely in my hands, I turned and looked at him and gave him a big smile.

‘You did not just do that.’ He used my words back at me.

‘Yup, what are you going to do about it?’  I answered back laughing.

He grabbed me, one arm at my back and one arm under my legs and he lifted me off the couch.  I yelped and wrapped my arms around his neck dropping the ball.

‘This.’ He said, and like a little kid started turning around in a circle.

I wrapped my arms tighter around his neck.

When he finally stopped, I was so dizzy but so was he.  He practically couldn’t stand strait.  He put my legs on the ground and took my hands in his.

The floor, the walls everything was moving so I grabbed his hands like there was no tomorrow.

I couldn’t stop giggling and then he started laughing.  I let go his hands and tried to walk.
