Chapter 26: its life

Kayla's pov

I wake up with the sun shinning through the blinds

I look over and see jake sleeping peacefully

I stand up and go downstairs to make breakfast

I hear my baby start to cry so I walk in there and pick him up

I hum a lullaby as I flip the pancakes on the stove

I sit jake in his playpen when jake comes downstairs

"Good morning baby" he says kissing me "and good morning jake"

He kisses his tiny head as jake looks at him

"Can we call him Kade so we will know your talking to him and not me?" chase asks chuckling

I laugh and shake my head yes

"Mommy loves you" I say bending down and kissing kades forehead

"And daddy loves you" jake says smiling

"Da da!" we hear kade says laughing

I look at jake and he looks at me

"Kade you said your first word!" I say picking him up

I cover his face with kisses as he tries to push me away

I laugh and jake laughs along with us

"I'm so proud of you" jake says kissing kades head

"Da da" he says again reaching for jake

I hand him over and jake holds him

"Breakfast is ready when you are" I say laughing

We sit at the table and eat breakfast
