Vineet and Ruhana share some moments together when Ruhana falls asleep on his shoulder. He lifts her in his arms and takes her to her room. He lays her on the bed and kisses her head. He knows she’s the sunshine in his life. And he has vowed to be her best friend. He has to be one. He silently repeats his own words and moves to his room.

The next morning rises quickly. Ruhana wakes up and finds herself on her bed. She smiles, Vineet must have tucked her in the bed as she fell asleep on the terrace.  She determines herself, to make Vineet participate in the annual fest. Yes, he has promised her and he has to listen to her. She hops out of the bed and moves into the washroom. She takes a shower and gets ready for the day. She has to do a lot of work —there are projects and examinations, and the annual fest finally.

None of these things can be dumped and Ruhana has made it clear in her mind that she will do everything, after all, she is a girl who loves to do new things. Moreover, things will go as she will plan with her friends.

She gets ready, makes her hair, and packs her backpack with the required things. There is no chance to make any delay, she has to finish her project and assignments as soon as possible. She walks out of her room and finds her mother brewing coffee in the kitchen. She keeps her bag on the couch and moves into the kitchen.

“Good Morning, Mumma! Where’s your silent boy?” Ruhana asks her mom about Vineet.

“Hey, he’s got a good name.” Her mother replies.

“Yeah yeah, but he’s always silent. He’s the silent boy.” Ruhana makes a face.

“Why do you say like this?” Her mom looks at her.

“Because I love it. At least, he responds to me. When I give him tags, he responds to me. Now, he will say, that’s he’s not silent, but he is. He never talks and you support him, so he is your silent boy.” Ruhana glances at her mom.

“Okay! Now, you turn silent. Your dad and Vineet have gone for a morning jog. “Her mom says, shushing her.

“Okay! Let me have my coffee. You wait for your silent boy.” Ruhana says teasingly while her mother just smiles.

She knows Ruhana is just teasing. Vineet also calls her clumsy and talkative but this is all healthy and they do it only beneath the walls of their home. Once out, Vineet and Ruhana truly take care of each other.

Ruhana sits on the couch, relishing her morning coffee and her mother sits beside her, keeping the tray on the table. The tray consists of two cups, probably one for Vineet and the other for Ruhana’s dad.

The girl is listening to the song and keeps her head on her mom’s shoulder. She pats her cheek lovingly.

"Wake up, sleepyhead! I don't want Ma to whine in pain." A teasing voice falls into her ears.

“Hey, I am not a sleepyhead! Shut up!” Ruhana glares at Vineet.

“You are! You always make me late.” Vineet makes a face.

“Noo! You’re late. You’ve not taken a shower yet. You—you silent boy, go and take a shower, you’re stinking!” Ruhana teases him.

“Hey! I’ll be ready in no time. You’re only sleeping on Ma’s shoulder with your heavy head.” Vineet says teasingly.

“Hey! Shut up! When mumma doesn’t have a problem, why do you have a problem?” Ruhana narrows her eyes at him.

“Because I am worried for Ma. But you clumsy girl! You will trouble her.” Vineet says teasingly.

“You! It’s right! Isliye main isko Silent Boy bolti hoon. Jab bolna chahiye tab aapka silent boy kuch nahi bolta. Aur aap bhi nahi.” Ruhana says while making a face at her mother and Vineet.
