Ruhana and Vineet are having a deep conversation. Ruhana cheers Vineet up and he also promises her that he will keep his word. Though she knows that he is a man of his word, she wants assurance. She doesn’t want that Vineet pushes himself back into sorrow. They share a warm embrace and somewhere in her heart, she doesn’t want to leave his embrace. But they part the hug and Vineet says something that leaves Ruhana touched.

She stares at him with her eyes open wide while he smiles at her softly. He nods his head assuring her of his decision. Ruhana jumps on her toes happily and pulls him into her embrace.

“Are you sure? I don’t want to force you, though. But I’d be glad to have you participating. I will make me happy.” Ruhana chuckles.

“I know, Ruu. You have never forced me. You’ve given me the liberty to be the person that I am. This is the least I can do for you.” Vineet says genuinely.

“That’s more than enough for me, Vineet. I am glad that you’re trying to move ahead. And, it only makes me happy. “ Ruhana says and holds his hand.

“Only for you! Because no one has been on my side the way you have. You were right, Ruhana. Even Rohan left me at the times I needed.” Vineet says softly.

“I know, Vineet. I am glad you‘re on the right path, now. I can’t be happier.” Ruhana says softly.

“Yeah! I will abide by your words. I will take part in the fest. I’ll play the tune that Mom used to love. What do you think?” Vineet says and looks at Ruhana.

“That’s a great idea, Vineet! She’s looking at you from the heavens. And she’d be the happiest.” Ruhana says and holds his hands in assurance.

“Since you’ve been with me forever, this is the least I can do and you deserve even more.” Vineet says he’s guilty of not giving her the importance.

“Don’t be sad, Vineet. Everything is fine. I am glad that you’re trying hard. I know it’s difficult but I am there with you. Dare you think that you’re alone! I am always there, in this life, you’re not getting rid of me, at least not so easily.” Ruhana says and threatens him.

“I am really glad, Ruu. Things have become easy with you by my side. I know I am bad at expressing my thoughts, but yes I mean all the words that I’ve said.” Vineet says genuinely and gracefully.

“I know, Vineet. You’re the man of your word. I don’t need anything other than your happy self. And I know things will get better with time. Trust me!” Ruhana says softly.

Ruhana and Vineet share some moments as they talk further. The former is glad about Vineet’s decision and in the meanwhile, they hear their mom calling for them. They run towards the lady and hug her.

“Woah! You two are so happy! Hmm, what’s the reason?” Rekha asks them.

“Your silent boy is coming back on track. And I am happy.” Ruhana chuckles.

“Maa! Tell her to stop calling me silent boy!” Vineet whines.

“That’s what you are! But yes, we can compensate and think of a new name.” Ruhana says teasingly.

“Noo! I have a good name! Start taking that, you little girl!” Vineet teases her back.

“Yeah yeah! But I love it in a short way! Vinu! Isn’t it cute?” She says.

“I know I am cute! Rhea used to say that too.” Vineet says teasingly.

Hearing Rhea’s name, Ruhana glares at him. She’s already frustrated with the said girl and now, Vineet is again bringing her in between. She hates her, or maybe, she’s jealous, but she hates the fact that Rhea tries to approach Vineet and she can’t bear him. Though she knows that Vineet doesn’t like Rhea, the girl is always saying foul words, just because she’s the daughter of the college’s trustee.

“I hate her! And why are you so concerned about that Rhea?” Ruhana makes a face.

“She just compliments me, Ruu! Why are you so angry?” Vineet asks, pretending to be unknown.

“Yeah, and you take it very seriously! What I say doesn’t matter to you! Isliye tumhe wo Rhea ki bachi yaad aayi na abhi!” Ruhana glares at Vineet who’s suppressing his laugh.

“Oops! What did she do that you’re so angry?” Vineet asks her softly.

“She’s the reason, you know. Jab dekho chipakti rehti hain. Huh! I just hate her!” Ruhana makes a foul face.

Vineet breaks into laughter at her reaction while Ruhana sends a fiery glare his way.

“You taught her a good lesson last time. She’s scared of you, even I am.” Vineet says making a scared face.

“Shut up! Go and practice for your competition! And stop talking about Rhea!” She warns him causing him to smile.

Ruhana makes a face while Vineet brings up his guitar and begins to play the tune, actually playing it for his Maa. The lady is listening to him with a smile while Ruhana begins to hum the song that he’s playing. Vineet looks at her and smiles. He can tell how happy this young girl is to see him playing the guitar.

As their eyes meet for a fraction of a second, Ruhana smiles at him while Vineet promises himself to not let her smile diminish ever.

To Be Continued.
