Falling For You

~Chapter #65~

Ruhana and Vineet are elated with their confession and they are glad to know that they are still friends with each other. They are best friends and now lovers. Life seems beautiful as they are by each other’s sides. Well, Vineet is back to his usual self. He’s accepted that Ruhana is his only sunshine. Until she’s there, he’ll be fine – he knows it. They are in the garden after the annual fest as all the parents leave while the students stay for the prom night the other night. Also, some awards are to be distributed the other day.

Ruhana and Vineet share some time together and the lady asks him if he’d love to accompany her to the prom night. He smiles and agrees, well, he can’t lose her and he knows it. Ruhana chuckles and kisses his cheek, thanking him again for being the considerate person he is. She loves it when he smiles – it seems to take away all her sorrows & pain.

They part ways when he checks his watch and it shows 1 AM. Oh! It’s too late and they should hurry to their rooms. If any professor sees them outside, they'd be punished, and they don’t want it, especially when they’ve just got together. Vineet walks Ruhana to her room and kisses her forehead softly before walking into his own room across hers.

She watches him go — he’s the peace of her life.

Ruhana enters her room and finds that her friends are still awake. They already know that things are fine between her and Vineet. Also, Ruhana has told them that they have confessed their feelings to each other. Priyanka is the first one to send a tease her way.

“So, are you happy? I mean things are going fine, he’s told how he feels.” Priyanka says.

“Yeah, he said that he’ll be how he is right now.” Ruhana chuckles.

“Ah! That’s great. So, if you hadn’t said, how’d he realise? See, I was right, he felt the same.” Shubhi says.

“Yeah! And that was beautiful.” Ruhana says, blushing to remember the confession they made and her first-ever kiss.

“Well, I am glad! I thought that this story will die in the infinite emptiness just like the dark. But, there’s a meaningful end to it.” Ruhana says softly.

“Every story has an ending, Ruu. I knew you’d achieve it.” Shubhi side-hugs Ruhana.

“I am glad, it happened. He’s healing, and there’s nothing more that I demand.” Ruhana says.

“I knew, you’d do it. You love him so much.” Priyanka hugs her best friend.

“I do, and now that he knows it, I wish this story flourishes forever,” Ruhana says.

She looks at her friends who are happy and they assure her that everything will be fine.

Ruhana lies on the bed yet sleep is away from her eyes. She’s happy — heartily happy, for now, she knows that Vineet loves her too. He’s trying to open up, he’s accepted her love and admitted that she’s the only sunshine in his life. He loves her dearly and knows that her love is helping him heal, she’s on cloud nine. Having him near, she’s elated. And for the prom night, she’s elated that he’s her partner — what more does she want now?

She falls asleep amidst the thoughts of the prom night. Tomorrow will be a beautiful day again.

The next day rises early. Ruhana is the first one to wake up, though, she didn’t sleep for a long time, due to her joy. She just spent the night thinking that how her life would be with Vineet beside her. She dresses up and rushes out into the resort garden. As expected, Vineet is there near the swing. She smiles to herself and runs towards the swing and takes her seat. He smiles and gives a push to the swing and she squeals in joy.
