Falling For You

~Chapter #18~

Vineet boards the bus and looked at Ruhana. He finds her staring at him. He's relieved, she is sound amongst her friends. As their gazes meet, she smiles.

Oh! Her smile!! For the last 15 years, she is the sole reason for him to live in this world. It won't be wrong to say that whatever she did in the past or whatever she is doing is for his good as well. She is a great friend. She has put his broken pieces back, and she has been always there whenever he needs her. She leaves her friends just to be with him. Her parents are his parents as well. He eventually started referring to them as Mom and Dad, and they believe him more than they did Ruhana. Vineet has always proved himself perfect for Ruhana, be it, fighting for her, and saving her from any dangers. The only thing that he lacks behind in is to be the same friend to her that they were in childhood. SHe wants him back, her best friend, with whom she can have all the fun.

Vineet asks Ruhana if she's fine and she nods positively. He smiles at his best friend and at the same time, he feels a tug on his hand. He looks around and finds Rhea holding his hand, trying to talk to him. Oh! This girl is crap, she won't understand the polite way. It seems like she has forgotten the incident that happened a few days ago in the college. Rhea is a flirty kind of girl and egoistic as well. Many times, she breaks into a fight with Ruhana as well. Vineet gives a quick glance at Ruhana and finds her glaring at him. Fortunately, his phone rings and he excuses himself. The call is from one of their professors, and after attending the call, Vineet turns to check on the students and he finds them lost in conversations with each other.

Vineet relaxes in the driver's cabin. After a while, the driver notifies Vineet that they'll reach the airport in next 10 minutes, and so forth, he makes the announcement. Ruhana secures her bag and finds that his bag is also placed in her lap. She smiles and secures it tightly. Vineet watches her and he smiles as well. Her smile is the most serene sight to his eyes and he can't let that smile diminish from her lips.

Reaching upon the airport, Vineet signals Ruhaana stay back in the bus and let the other students board down the bus. Ruhana silently agrees and asks her friends to move down. Vineet is finishing his check and in the last they move out of the bus. Ruhana chides him, as he is in his serious mood, and she doesn't want it to happen. Vineet laughs at her impulsiveness but agrees. He knows that she can't see him sad or angry. Meanwhile, the announcements for the flights are made and everyone moves inside the airport.

Thirty minutes later, after all the security checks,they board the plane. Luckily, both Ruhana and Vineet get adjacent seats. The morning hours have been hectic today. Vineet takes his seat near Ruhana and relaxes on the seat and closes his eyes. He smiles only to hear some whispers from other girls.

Yeah, About him. Of course, why won't they discuss him? He's young, handsome and a perfect gentleman. Every girl wants such a guy but this guy is dedicated to just one person, that's Ruhana. He never talks to anyone, just like that. Since he shares a close relationship with Ruhana, he feels as if the girls gossip because they are jealous of Ruhana. Sometimes, even Ruhana teases Vineet as girls drool over him and she doesn't like it. He opens his eyes and found Ruhana glaring at him.

"What happened Ruhana?" He asks, sitting back properly in his seat.

She turns her face towards the window in anger while Vineet smiles at her antics. He knows that she has heard the girls' talks and she also must have seen him smiling. He leans towards her and whispers in her ear...

"Okay.if you don't want to talk to me, I will talk to Rhea...okay!" he says it intentionally to tease her,earning a tight slap on his arm which only makes him giggle.

"Dare you talk to her, I will kill you !!" she says, gritting her teeth.

Vineet smiles at her words. He knows that Ruhana doesn't like Rhea. She can beat anything but not the moments when Rhea is around her or around Vineet. He smiles and decides to teaser her further.

"Why? What's wrong? And why are you so angry?" He asks naughtily.

He loves the way she gets angry on mention of Rhea. Her clenched fists and her light slaps and punches on his arm, shows what she feels for him. Though, he can't pull himself away from his past, he feels blessed to know that he still matters to someone. He looks at her and she's calming herself. Maybe, she has suddenly realized her reaction to what he just said. He taps on her shoulder and she looks at him smiling briefly.

" I...I am sorry Vineet!"
She stutters as she glances back at Vineet.

She is apologizing. Did she think he got hurt? No, he has been enjoying her reactions. He smiles and took her hand in his and squeezes them lightly.

"its okay ..I was just kidding! I didn't know, you'll feel bad." Vineet explains.

She smiles at him. Okay! She feels bad, she feels jealous to see Rhea around Vineet. He means the world to her. He is not only her best friend but also more than that. Maybe, she feels for him, maybe she loves him. But,she is not sure. Ruhana smiles lightly at Vineet.

"Yeah Vineet. I know. But I mean what I said." She says, glaring at Vineet .

He smiles at her possessiveness. Meanwhile, The pilot announces that the flight is going to take off and that they should tuck in their seatbelts. As soon as the flight takes off, Ruhana keeps her head on his shoulder and falls asleep. Her lips curve into a small smile with his closeness while he kisses on her head. This girl is really a bundle of joy, at least for Vineet. He takes a deep breath and rests his head on hers. The journey has just begun.
