Atarah Jones awoke from her coma in the hospital, just before the dark curse is broken. However, when the curse is finally broken, after many years, most of her memories are still missing.
Which doesn't really help her much, since she doesn't know who she hurt and who she didn't in the town she's currently stuck in. But, she's dragged around to help the Charming and it most definitely doesn't benefit her in a long while.
